Surprisingly comfortable and quiet for a hostal. Great cafe and restaurant on the premises. Lots of spaces to relax and the neighborhood is great. 5 minute walk from the DuPont metro stop.

As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe at this hostel! Check in was quick, easy and efficient and the desk staff was incredibly friendly and informative. The location truly cannot be beat with easy access to bus and metro lines. They have a fun and upbeat bar/restaurant with affordable and great food and drinks. The twin beds are surprisingly very comfortable and they have privacy curtains. Clean rooms and bathrooms. I would highly recommend this hostel to people traveling in the DC area!

I'd come back
The check in was smooth and quick. The lobby and reception desk was comforting. Plenty of seating areas to work, eat, or chill. The cafe was such a convenience for coffee in the morning or to just fill up your water bottle which was nice in their motto to foster a sustainable environment. The bedroom was roomy. I love the bed I was in. It was comfortable, did not smell, AC was great, and really appreciated the desk area. The various roommates however, were a different story. I truly appreciate the staff at the front desk but really appreciate the staff in the cafe. She provided the best customer service ever.

Was walkable and convenient but finding sapce for parking was terrible. The facility said i had to pay $53 just for for parking. It was hell finding parking space for a few minutes just to takw out my bags and send the car away. Aside that, the place is cool

The staff was really nice and helpful, although the rooms weren’t as big as depicted in the images and the hotel looks like a hostel instead. The breakfast included is in a cafe next to the hotel, the food is okay but it’s not the usual hotel restaurant, if that’s what you’re looking for.

I was in DC for my birthday. The staff at check-in was wonderful, even acknowledging my day. The room was comfortable, and stylish and had a wonderful city view. I will recommend The Generator and look forward to my return stay.
