In an attempt to book one of the Society M meeting rooms I encountered probably the worst customer service to the point of utter indifference. It took repeated requests to staff if the room was free to emails never replied too. Zero attempt to actually help the customer. Perhaps avoid any interaction to book business meetings and stick to sleeping there only.

We stayed at citizenM Washington DC NoMa, and I absolutely loved its unique, artistic vibe — beautifully decorated, modern, and full of personality. The hotel has a sleek, minimalist design, and while the room was on the smaller side, it was perfectly organized, spotlessly clean, and impressively high-tech — everything controlled by iPad, which was fun to use. It had (almost) everything we needed for a comfortable stay— it was the first time I’ve stayed somewhere without any glasses, kettle, or coffee maker in the room — a little surprise! Still, the overall experience was wonderful, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who appreciates creativity, smart design, and a great location close to Union Station.

This property should not be called a hotel — it’s much closer to a hostel. The rooms are extremely small, more like Japanese capsule accommodations, yet priced as if they were standard hotel rooms. They promote themselves as clean and tech-focused, but in reality, neither claim holds up. On our first night, a heavy wooden reel cover from the so-called “smart shades” fell from the ceiling onto the bed. It could have caused a serious injury had anyone been near the window. The staff offered only an apology, with no meaningful follow-up. If you’re looking for a true hotel experience, I’d strongly recommend staying elsewhere
