We stayed here on vacation with 4 adults and 4 kids ages 6, 5, 4, and 3. The location was perfect, located in a safe and quiet neighborhood yet only a block from great restaurants/ grocery stores, and a convenient short metro ride from all the museums. The house was clean and thoughtfully well stocked with everything that families with kids might need (board games, high chair, kids utensils/plates/cups, great info in the binder re: things to do!). The owner, Dia, is the perfect balance of unobtrusive yet very responsive. She will arrange for a parking permit for your car in advance and will answer any of your questions via text very quickly. We realized at the last minute that we mistakenly booked our checkout day a day too early; she was able to extend our stay and also arranged an easy solution for our payment. The only potential considerations are that the house, like most housing in DC, is from the 1800s, so bedrooms are smaller, staircases are narrow, floors are uneven/creaky, so might be a consideration for people with physical disabilities or babies/toddlers, but it was renovated very nicely and very comfortable for us. Mosquitos are bad everywhere in DC in the summer so we couldn't really enjoy the patios, but there is lots of bug spray in the house (including what we left behind!). Overall, we would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Dia!!!
