The man at the desk was very friendly, the rooms were clean and well-cared for, with homey touches. The Strawberry Blonde cafe is right next door, also friendly with good food.
Excellent and helpful host (Chase) and a nice, clean property with nice touch throughout; flower baskets, rustic decoration, western bedspreads etc. No trains throughout the night which is a rarity in a small town in this part of the US!
Wallowa is a tiny town and they close up everything before 8 pm. We had nowhere to get food--not even the grocery store was open!!!!
The motel was clean and showed pride of ownership. The pillows were very hard, but the best thing was the toilet! It was a big, upscale one, not a tiny squatty potty like so many places have. (Is everyone laughing at this review now?!) It was very quiet and pleasant and we had a nice breakfast next door at the Blonde Strawberry where the owner is practically a standup comedian!
The mingle hotel was a beautiful place in the setting of not too many people it was clean it was very well decorated the flowers are beautiful and it had a balance in decorations between both masculine and feminine influence and it was great thanks a lot
This was the best motel we stayed at on our four night trip. Beds were comfortable and the owners were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
The check in was horrible. The office was locked and i had to call 3 times before someone would answer to let us check in to our room. At check out it was the same. Office locked and so i called and left a message that we were checking out.
We've stayed in a lot of motels and I have to say this was my favorite. The owner spent a great deal of time creating the cutest room with a country theme. The towels were thick, the sheets were taupe in color, and there were bears in the lamps, and even the toilet paper holder was unusual with a bear. It was fun to check the room out. The outside also had a rustic theme.
This is a very nice older motel that is very nicely run. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean and decorated in a kind of lodge like style. The carpet being new was a tad odorous as new carpet tends to be but I will take that over old sticky carpet anytime. The TV was a little on the small side but it did the job. The walls are cinder block but are nicely muted by neutral beige paint. They also do a wonderful job of limiting noise from any neighbors. Not a lot else in Wallowa but they do have a okay Pizza place and a small market. There is a Safeway in Enterprise which is a scenic 15 min drive away. I would definitely recommend this motel!
More options and local services a short distance East at Enterprise. If you must stay in Wallowa, this is your best bet. Rooms are great, somewhat small, and a bit cheap on amenities in the room.
