My suite was beautiful and spacious (although rice grains were left in the sink 👀). Everything was fine until I was suddenly jarred by loud banging at my door. I jumped up to look out the peephole and they started turning my door handle, pushing on my door, trying to get in.
When I look out of the peephole there were two strange men there. I asked what they wanted, and one identified himself as “Engineering “, and said that they thought my room was vacant…then left. I immediately call the front desk to verify if someone was supposed to be there and the first associate nor the second that got on the line was aware of anyone scheduled to come to the room. This of course concerned me and I told them to call the police and look into this.
At least 30 minutes later I call the front desk back to follow up, and only THEN was I advised that there was service scheduled for my room, but that an associate failed to update the status of my room as occupied. This associate I spoke with, who identified themself as the manager on duty, was very passive and not too apologetic about what had happened. She claimed that proper procedure was followed, and that it was the engineering manager with a service person and he banged on my door and tried to enter quickly the way he did because he’d thought the room was vacant.
This makes NO SENSE to me! Since when does hotel staff behave in that way??? I was literally terrified! There was a much better way to handle this!!!
