I always take away one star for 11 AM checkout. The norm is 12.
The other star for is for the tiny bathroom.
2 day stay whilst we took a boat trip up the Rio Gurdiana. First visit to VRSA so great chance to look around and get to know the town. Very impressed. The AL was in a perfect position to explore the town just a few yards from the harbour and marina and a few yards to the town and lots of restaurants and shops. The lodging was very clean and we were warmly welcomed. The room was immaculate but sadly the reception was not always staffed and when we needed help on the two occasions there was no one there. There was a note giving a number in case of emergency but we didn’t think our desire to buy a coffee capsule for the coffee machine and my need for a hairdryer were emergencies. There should have been a hair dryer in the room but I didn’t check until it was too late to ask. Not really an issue. There was a very nice kitchen dining room on the top floor with access to a lovely roof terrace with seating. The kitchen was very well equipped but it would have helped if the reception had mentioned the need to buy the capsules for the Dolce Gusto machine. We would definitely come back again to Villa Marquez. We would recommend it to others.
Very clean hotel near to all amenities and by the ferry to Spain. Wonderful roof terrace. It was our second stay hear and would thoroughly recommend it.
Really enjoyed our stay in this traditional little guest house right in the centre of the lovely border town of Vila Real de S. Antonio. Only 5 minutes on foot to the Spanish ferry, 20 mins from the train station and in a quiet street just off the bustling main square. The building is in the old town so not luxurious but it’s been beautifully maintained and has a restful ambiance - felt at home right away. The small room was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated & even had a good range of TV channels. The bathroom was very small but we managed fine (and we’re 75) though if you had disability or weight issues it could be a problem.
We really loved the roof terrace, had our breakfast there, where the hosts have thoughtfully provided a mini kitchen for guests use.
Ticked all my boxes and will definitely return!!
The location is excellent for exploring on foot. It is very close to the port and the plaza. The room and bathroom are small. The bed took up most of the room so wouldn’t want to spend too much time there. The people are very helpful and welcoming.
I stayed for about a week. I love it because it is family owned. And Brono is the son. He is kind and knowledgeable, and has a Master Degree in Hosptality management. He gave me good reference for where to eat and park. The hotel is one minute from Police station, so it is very safe and in the central district of a small towns. I forgot to take my charger backs and I telephoned Brono and he saved for me. I plan to go back, so will pick up later or have them mail to me. All it is a good place with a good rate in the shoulder season. I highly recommend. But if you have a family or for two people the room maybe a bit small for you. San Antonio is such a tranquil twin, very peaceful in November.
Experiência bastante agradável. Excelente limpeza. Sugiro que tenham café disponível para os hospedes já que têm uma maquina de café.
Aconselho a qualquer pessoa.
I loved to stay here, will definitely stay every time I go to the zone. From the beginning was perfect, arrived too early (10am) to check in and they were really nice and since the room was already ready they allowed us to go to it straight away when he didn't had to (check in was at 3pm). This saved us from walking around with our bags for 5h. The owner and staff are also really good people, always ready to help and even give good tips for the holiday.
Amazing cozy place at the top with a big balcony, perfect to bring food and eating there, wonderful view and very peaceful at any time of the day or night, it's almost like a private heaven.
If I could give a bigger rating I would.
Thank you to everyone for a great perfect stay. I'll be back soon 😀
