The moment we pulled into the parking lot, there were people milling around the premises and sitting in front of the rooms, the kinds of people you would not want your children anywhere close. The second odd thing I found, was empty flower pots in front of every air conditioning, collecting its’ water. Then… I entered the room. It reeked of pickle juice odor. (Later researched it to be mold coming from the AC unit). Went to the lady at the front desk, who said I could switch rooms, but since I booked the hotel from a third party (Expedia), I would not be able to get a refund (unless I call Expedia myself). Took the key to another room, opened it….and the fermenting odor of pickle juice was even worse. Went back to our room only to find a cockroach sitting right on top of a pillow. I have no idea where these 7.4 positive reviews came from. This hotel deserves a 1. STAY AWAY. We ended up staying at a nearby Days Inn, which was clean and the staff was professional (unlike At Home Inn). I did end up calling Expedia and they did get me a refund.
