Great stay. Let me say, the plusses were immense. Great location for our tourist activities. The staff was friendly and helpful!
We didn't mind 40-minute walks (sometimes took a taxi) for others, so loved it.
They had a restaurant for breakfast (optional). We did it once, but with so many places to eat in Rome, found it unnecessary. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant for dinner nor lunch, but again, there are so many places to eat nearby, why bother?
The room was spacious, even for 4 (2 preteens). As with other European hotels, I don't know why they can't invest in some screens on windows so you can open them without fear of something flying in (like bugs). Didn't seem to be an issue here like it was in Venice (they had mosquitos) though.
Also, European showers leave much to be desired. The whole "we don't need to build four sides" theory is ridiculous. No matter how carefully you try, still water gets on the floor (and let's not start with putting kids in the picture).
Anyhow, super hotel. Only warning was air conditioning. Ours (and other guests we spoke to at hotel) had minimal air coming in. Hotel staff said it was scheduled to be serviced the next day. They said this everyday (it never got fixed). Made it unbearable to sleep two of the nights (even with open windows and a fan hotel donated to us).
They couldn't give us a discount directly (bc we booked thru hotels.com) but the staff encouraged us to ask for one but through Hotels.com. So far, we've been denied.
