Sylvia continues to do something every year to make the hotel nicer: remodeling the bathrooms, new carpets, a much better elevator system from lobby to upper floors. and the restaurant is excellent. Good food and good waiters.

The Sylvia is the only hotel in Vancouver actually on the beach. Sitting or walking on English Bay with a Starbucks americano as the morning arrives over the water is beyond perfect.

We loved our stay at the beautiful, historic Sylvia! The room was well appointed and spotlessly clean, but still had the old school charm of its 100 year history. The bed was super comfy.and oh, that fabulous view of beautiful English Bay. The front desk staff were so friendly, helpful and professional. The location can’t be beat!

Love the Sylvia hotel for its location, intimate size, historic feel, but rooms and hallways are pretty basic and feel tired. That said. I’ll likely return again for third time. Convenient underground parking for CA$25/nt which actually isn’t bad for downtown location
