We arrived and although our room was ready, there was a foul smell in one of the corners. When we informed the staff, we were told it was the smell of the wood *shrug*. The smell persisted during our entire stay. The room was large and the bed was comfortable and clean. The water was brown for about 2 of the 3 days but we were told it was b/c of the rains. Breakfast was delicious and varied.
The location is not good, it is in the edge of town and surrounded by flooded dirt roads.
The most bizarre part of our stay was the detailed inspection of our rooms, bed, sheets, towels right before we checked out. The staff even took pics of the towels and sheets. Because we are decent human beings and generally clean and considerate, we did not make a mess of our room, towels, and sheets and we weren't charged any additional fees, but I do believe this deserves a mention. I have traveled throughout the world and this is the first time I encounter a required detailed inspection of our room before leaving.
