About this property

Secluded Healing Mountain Retreat @ Finca Remedio Eco Farm

Finca Remedio is a 40 acre Eco Farm and healing space in the mountains of Utuado. Come bask in the beauty of our pristine tropical forest, bathing in fresh spring water, listening to the evening orchestra of wildlife and gentle waterfalls. Our farm is an off-grid outdoor living experience and the perfect environment for relaxation, connection, and healing. We provide the basics for you to be comfortable as you immerse yourself in mother nature. You can check out our project on FB and IG @Fincaremedio All photos are from our farm, including the river.

You will be sleeping on a deck above a creek, surrounded by trees. The space is open, simple, completely private and clean. It is protected from the rain and does not get wet. There is a queen bed, mosquito net, bedside tables, solar string lights, hammock, table and chairs, yoga mats, cooler, and berkey water filter. The outdoor bathroom consists of a sink, outdooor hot shower with pure spring water and a compost toilet (closed system using sawdust instead of water). There is no electricity on this deck only solar lighting, phone charger and headlamps The sleeping area is very deep in the forest, you wont hear any cars or see lights and there are no neighbors. A 3 minute walk from this deck is the kitchen deck. This deck has all the essentials for cooking, 2 burner stove, mini fridge, sink, storage space, cooking utensils, Berkey water filter (please don't bring water bottles we have excellent water here), dining area, sofa, compost toilet. The kitchen deck has solar power for phone charging, music, wifi, yoga mats, instruments. This deck is above our home so it is less private, though we do not use it to cook. Occasionally we may have volunteers also using this deck also, we will try to let you know first. Our adobe home is below with the garden, we can give mini tours of our SuperAdobe earth home. We also sell organic fruits, veggies, eggs, hot sauce, natural remedies and beauty products. When we are available we can prepare farm to table breakfast for $15 per person per meal. We also offer beginners yoga and latin percussion classes for $20. This is a food forest and you will be surrounded by fruit trees.

We have a hiking path that loops around the farm (about 45 minutes) if you enjoy hiking. We also have two creeks and a river. On the walk between the kitchen and the sleeping deck you have to cross the creek so wear shoes that can get wet or jump. We have an amazing, crystalline river on the bottom of the farm with 2 epic swimming holes and amazing waterfalls. River access is a challenging 10 minute hike down a steep slope with about 300 steps cut out from the earth with ropes for support. our river is totally private and magical, but only for agile hikers, in sunny weather and at your own risk. The creek is a 1 minute hike from our home and has little pools with waterfalls for bathing. We are 420 and plant medicine friendly, this is a healing space.

Our farm is off grid (solar and spring water) and off road, from the entrance to the kitchen deck is a 2 minute drive and from there 3 minutes more to the sleeping deck. You can park your car next to the kitchen deck. It is essential that you are comfortable walking and living outside on uneven terrain. Finca Remedio is a functioning farm, you will see projects in process and things that need to be done, do not expect luxury. Hosting glampers is a way to financially support our farm. We appreciate you!
We have 4 dogs, 2 cats and 40 chickens. Our dogs are very loving and safe, but they are guard dogs and do bark. If you are afraid of dogs this is not the space for you. Dog lovers only! Our dogs do not like new dogs, NO PETS ALLOWED.

This is an ideal stay for those wishing to connect with nature, relax, restore, hike, swim, read, meditate, practice yoga, music, birdwatch, eat organic local food, and experience life on a real homestead. Note, August-October is the rainy season in Puerto Rico and we live in a tropical rainforest, it will rain most afternoons for at least 30 minutes. Please be prepared. We do have extra rubber boots for guests and umbrellas. Occasionally wild pigs (not boars) come to forage on our farm, they have not been aggressive, however if this is alarming for you, this might not be the nature experience for you.

Extra guests after 2 people are welcome for $20 per person per night, we can set up 2 cots with sleeping bags and pillows on the glamping deck or extra guests can stay in a 8 person large tent we have next to the creek where there are 2 twin mattresses and 1 full mattress with pillows and sleeping bags (2 minute walk from glamping deck, 1 minute walk from kitchen).

We can receive families and love to host children. It is important to warn that we live in the mountains, there are steep slopes along paths and the decks are lifted 3 and a half feet off the ground. It is easy for small children to fall off. Please be aware of the extra care and education needed to stay here with small children. With that said. it is an incredible opportunity for children to experience the magic of Mother Nature in a comfortable setting.

We live 15 minutes from the town of Utuado, and 20 minutes from Adjuntas. The last half mile to the farm is going up a steep slope. You do not need 4WD.
There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. The bathroom has a shower and a bidet.
Take in the views from a garden.
Breakfast is available for a fee.
Guests will find features like onsite parking.

An amazing place and the best sleep I’ve had in a year.
It is exactly as the photos show. I arrived late, was walked to the hut (I guess that’s what you’d call it), and I admit I was skeptical of how well I’d be able to sleep with no walls to keep the bugs out. No bugs bothered me at all. In Texas you’d have thousands of mosquitoes, and flying insects but here, none. The singing of the tree frogs in the forest put me to sleep and I slept better than I have in at least a year. This is an amazing place. I am definitely coming back and will bring company with me. Doing it alone was my only drawback. This is a place meant to be shared. The most excellent place I’ve found in VRBO yet.

Jungle Cabana
What you see in the pictures is exactly what you will get! This is a rustic retreat in the quiet Puerto Rico jungle. Your stay will be quiet, secluded, and disconnected from the city. Be sure to take the hike down to the river and find the waterfalls.
