EXCELLENT service upon arrival!! Walked us to the room and thoroughly explained everything. Huge property so its like a maze in the beginning. Very good and unique onsen, loves the small rotemburo feeling!
All excellent.
A well deserve 5 stars full service hotel
Beauty in every detail.
Considerate in every gesture.
We also didnt paid a hefty price as well.
The only drawback is Ureshino is very, very remote.
The walls were thin. Above and below and beside me people partied all night. There were no English speaking staff, and I couldn't express this to them. The rooms and hallways are run down. The onsen is not well maintained.
Check in was quick. Service was impeccable. Even though not very fluent in English, the staff tried their best to communicate.
The hotel is by the river, and has amazing views.
Japanese room we stayed in was very spacious. Buffet breakfast had a huge selection, and the hotel provides almost all the amenities you would need at the onsen.
We encountered a few tour groups during our stay, so it can get quite crowded at times in the onsen.
Both the lady and gentleman at the reception are completely nice and helpful. Arrived hotel a bit late at night (around 8:30pm) and would like to have dinner at the Saga Gyuhinkan. Restaurant was almost closed but glad they finally accept us for meals. There's a Chinese waiter and he's very helpful too.
Onsen opens till 12am for guest with room so that we can still enjoy it after dinner. Sauna inside hot spring area is small but clean.
A very wide range of food served during breakfast, truly worth for money and recommend for anyone who visit Ureshino. :)
The hotel was really nice and the area is very quaint. The onsen is the best part about this hotel. It is located in a small town so there is not too much to do and transportation is a little difficult. There is no train close by and taxi or car is the best way to get around. We ended up taking taxis most of the time since it was the most time saving and practical way to see the region. The closest train station is about a 30 minute bus ride and 1-3 buses run every hour depending on the day and hour. Make sure you book reservations for dinner since they get full quickly. One night we went to 6 different restaurants trying to eat before we found one that would take us. Also, most of the staff at the hotel are very friendly, but not good with English so it is better if you can speak Japanese.
I stayed in two nights for business trip. Facilities is old, but, thereforeI I feel history in his hotel.
What I suprised is Wataya besso is very wide hotel. My room is in tower buiilding and it take 5 minutes walking to bath place. And Wataya besso has some hiraya-rooms (that is like banglow) over the river, of course we can be there by walking through the corridor.
The bath is very large and open-air bath is very comfortable. This spring quality is little slippery and that's good. Dishes is delicious, especially onsen-tofu is excellent!
Nice hotel with good maintainence and great hospitality though in a bit outdated town. The location is great along small shopping street and closed to the water stream where small water fall site and sound is value added . The staffs are very nice. They offered to send off and pick us up at the bus station whenever we came back to town. The onsen in the hotel is nice and the kaiseiki meal is good. We enjoy the buffet breakfast with variety fresh oichii foods. We got a nice view room enjoying the sound of water stream sided the hotel. We feel the hotel's thoughtful intention to keep guests happy by the hotel layouts that provide many private resting area around the hotel. We will stay here again if we come back to Ureshino.
I stayed in this hotel for two nights and my family love it. The staff are very helpful too.

The Keiseki dinner was good and breakfast spread extensive.
I booked two night, and wished to find a better hotel after the frist night stay, the room are too old, everything are in wooden is good, but there are smell come from the wood, the smell of wet and didn't reach sun light for long time....Other than that, the public bath and service are good.
