Never was able to check in. We called the hotel and spoke with 2 different representatives to inquire about an incidental fee hold on my credit card, as we have recently had to wait over 30 days for a refund from a previous stay elsewhere and didn’t want a repeat situation. The hotel website and the hotels.com app weren’t very transparent as to that hotels specific policy, so I called the hotel for clarification. Both reps stated that there would be no fee held on my card, only keep the information I file in case something did happen (we don’t trash hotel rooms or anything like that), which is no problem. When I arrived, the front desk staff was rude, and informed us there was a $100 hold, BOTH staff that I had spoken with were wrong and I would have to either pay the fee or couldn’t check in. And my reservation was unrefundable, how convenient. So I contacted the hotels.com service line, the agent was very kind and understanding and even called the hotel to attempt to negotiate a refund because of the circumstances surrounding the situation. The agent said the hotel was extremely rude, refused to give any sort of refund, and directed the agent to contact the manager via email; who was not available until Monday. This was Friday evening. So basically they got a nice $93 tip and we never even checked in.
