Scotty Point Cabin has a Craftsman architectural style which reflects the love of simplicity and exhibiting attention to detail which includes old growth redwood trim throughout. It was built with consideration for amenities that allow for a comfortable vacation. The cozy feeling inside the cabin is perfect for a small family gathering. Set in the Pacific Northwest, 3 miles north of the historic town of Trinidad, California, Scotty Cabin is the perfect place to spend a few days or a couple of weeks exploring. Newly added: outdoor shower and two person Scotty Point cabana recreation area for your enjoyment!

In the mornings enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea as you walk out the door onto the sundeck overlooking the expansive private meadow before you finish breakfast and head off to explore for the day. And equally enjoyable when you return for a picturesque sunset dinner . The cabin is set up for three guests with a comfortable queen bed in the primary bedroom and an ultra thick twin size bed in the second bedroom. The full kitchen is well stocked with the majority of the cooking supplies and utensils you'll need to make quick meals on the go for your daily picnics or put together a leisurely dinner on the gas stove and oven. The full bathroom with shower and tub is designed to be compact but comfortable and well equipped. The front loading washer and dryer are well taken care of and located in the bathroom. All the BBQ utensils you'll need to enjoy the Gas Weber Grill are also provided. Hot and Cold sink near the BBQ for your convenience.

During your visit, please be sure and walk across the scenic meadow to take in the view of Scotty Point and the Pacific Ocean from the viewing terrace - a lovely place to have happy hour while watching the sunset in to the ocean. There is a deck box on the entry deck that has a few beach/lawn chairs and some toys for the kids for those beach trips or just to kick a ball about the meadow.

Beautiful garden setting near ocean and redwoods
Scotty cabin was a charming little cabin with a gorgeous yard and deck. It has a viewing platform at the end of a large grassy yardwith chairs and a table that on sunny days you can have a gorgeous view of the oceans with a big rock in it! The cabin had a full kitchen and bbq and all the cooking utensils and dishes you would need. I would have liked for them to provide tinfoil, plastic wrap, and at least one size of ziplock bags! and paper napkins, also they provide body wash but a bar of soap would be great.

Perfect private cottage with beautiful grounds and great location!
My husband and I stayed here for a second time and can't wait to come back in the warmer weather to enjoy the outside too. The beautiful meadow for the front yard is always serene, even with the snow cover last year. We enjoy the privacy, coziness and cleanliness of this sweet cottage and the owners do a great job of providing everything you need. We always feel at home. Thank you!

Great Location for a Visit to the Redwoods
The cabin was clean and comfortable with plenty of thoughtful touches. We so dearly wanted to love it, but when we arrived, we were met with a smell that wouldn’t go away regardless of our efforts to air the place out. Not sure where it was coming from, but it was with us throughout our stay. The kitchen was easy to use, and the laundry was a plus. The location was great - close to the highway, but tucked away from humanity. The deck overlooking the ocean was a great place to enjoy happy hour while watching the sun set. Management was very responsive to the two minor issues we had, but it was a pain to have coordinate for things that should have already been in the cabin.

Great place for Redwoods
Spent a week here as base for visiting Redwoods. Great little cabin for 3 people. You can see the ocean from property. Right off highway 101, 30 minutes south of popular Redwoods sites. Clean, quiet. Not ce restaurants nearby in Trinidad, CA

Wonderful stay in Trinidad
Our stay was wonderful it was definitely a home away from home. Very clean a well stocked kitchen and confortable bed. Loved the guestbook full of information to make our stay even more enjoyable. Restaurant and hikes ideas were appreciated. A glass of wine on the deck overlooking the ocean was a perfect way to end the day.

A Little Bit of Paradise
What strikes you the most about this property is the extremely large grassy outdoor area completely surrounded by flowering shrubs and trees for maximum privacy. From chairs up on the bluff one can see sea stacks and an emerald ocean and, if you are lucky, whales. The inside of the cabin, while small, is all a couple needs. We stayed for 2 weeks and were very comfortable. We cooked most evenings and bought food to prepare at Murphy’s in Trinidad. Within walking distance is a gourmet restaurant , Laurrapin’s, with amazing food for special occasions. And, just down the road is Sue-meg state park where one can hike along the cliff for stunning views. You can’t go wrong with the location. Even the huge redwoods are only an hour to your north with plenty of sights along the way. The only drawback is how hard it is to get to. From almost anywhere you have a long drive over mountain roads. We suggest flying into Eureka/Arcata airport and renting a car if mountain driving is not your thing.

Redwoods and Birds
We went to Trinidad to visit the Redwoods and birdwatch at the Humbolt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. This cozy cabin was the perfect place to spend the week. It was close to everything. It was also very comfortable. The beds were just the right firmness with luxurious sheets and quilts. The kitchen was well appointed had everything we needed to make meals. All in all, it was the perfect spot and we'll definitely be back.

Gorgeous property!
The pics on the listing are impressive but even so don’t do justice to what the property is like in person. The parcel of land is huge and is almost a nature destination in itself. The house had more amenities than we needed and was the perfect size: well-stocked kitchen, gas stove, even a washer & dryer. It’s located exactly between Trinidad and Patrick’s Point so it’s ideally positioned - just short drives to incredibly gorgeous views and hikes to the north and south. Communication from Vacasa before, during and after our stay was exactly enough (via text and email). We received all info we needed for easy check-in and checkout, without being overwhelmed with unnecessary details, but always knowing we had a direct contact if needed. Looking forward to returning!

Absolutely Perfect
I feel like absolutely perfect may be an understatement for this. We did a girls trip, there were 3 of us and we stayed for 3 days. It was magnificent. Excellent location, gorgeous view when the weather allowed, private setting, very clean home. The only thing I would change would probably be the bed. As a side sleeper it was very uncomfortable but that is me being nit picky because seriously everything else about this was a dream come true. We have actually discussed making this an annual trip to this specific home because we love it so much.
