Walk to downtown, visitor center, grocery, historic places, Trinidad Reservoir has great fishing, just west of town. Three hours from Santa Fe New Mexico - 1 and 1/2 hour to Taos - Beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains nearby, Santa Fe Trail came right through town. Town dates from the 1600s, located on the Purgatoire (Purgatory) River. Newly-opened Colorado State Park, Fisher's Peak has wildlife viewing, mountain biking, hiking and camping, located just outside of town to the south.
