Cozy log cabin 4 minutes outside Stone Mountain!

Relax in solitude with the whole family at this rustic log cabin in the woods located just minutes away from Stone Mountain State Park. Nestled in the Yadkin Valley Wine Country, the pet and child-friendly cabin boasts beautiful forest views, high-speed internet with available streaming services, a covered deck, and a cozy wood-burning stove. Take a few days away and escape to Appalachia!
Freedom Grove Lodging is situated on approximately 23 acres less than five minutes from the entrance to Stone Mountain State Park. In less than ten minutes, you can easily find yourself at one of a handful of beautiful wineries/vineyards, standing in trout-stocked waters, or hiking trails to breathtaking views. Our property, named out of a deep appreciation for our country and the beautiful land we enjoy, is heavily wooded and a variety of animals can often be seen roaming around. Sit by the firepit while enjoying a glass of something red or white from of our local vineyards. If the weather is less than favorable, cozy up to the wood-burning stove while enjoying streaming services on a large smart-TV. Complimentary firewood is included for the firepit and the wood stove!
Our cabin, named The Lincoln - after Honest Abe and his childhood log home - has a queen bed in the downstairs bedroom and a full bed in the upstairs loft. The sectional sofa in the living room also opens up into a bed, and an inflatable mattress and pump are available for an additional guest if needed.
For families with little ones, a Graco pack-&-play and a small highchair are available upon request - please let us know prior to your arrival if these items are needed.
Furry family members are most welcome - there are no additional fees - and some pet supplies are provided. Pets must be leashed when outside and crated when unattended inside. This is for their safety, the safety of the wildlife, and that of other guest's pets.
Please review the images to find an overhead view showing the distances between rentals. The Lincoln Cabin is marked by the yellow X.
Guests have full access to the Lincoln Cabin and surrounding areas. There is another cabin rental on the property as well as a glamping site, so we ask that you be respectful of other guests as well as our resident chickens, which are difficult to miss in their barn-red house near the entrance of the property. 4x4 is recommended, but not required, to get in and out of our property. We have had numerous guests do just fine with a sedan, but there are some areas with new gravel that have seen a couple of cars break traction.
We do not live on the property, but we are close by and are typically able to respond quickly. Please reach out to us for any reason if necessary!
***Fall 2024 Update - As we enter into cooler months, stink bugs began searching for warm environments to live in. We do our best to mitigate against them including hiring pest control and collecting them when they make it inside. However, there is no full-proof insecticide that is successful at preventing them, and they have no natural predators; and unfortunately, they thrive in forest environments like the one where we are located. Please review these circumstances prior to booking your stay. ***
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cabin, which features a fireplace. There's a private balcony. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker, and you can also request a crib/infant bed.
Guests will find features like onsite parking.

Great get away
We truly enjoyed the location and coziness of the cabin. Owners were extremely kind and helpful. I toured the glamping site with Jeff and may move to that next time. There was good information posted inside the cabin showing us things to do and places to go.

Mountain Cabin
We spent 3 nights at this very comfortable mountain cabin. Just a few minutes from the entrance to Stone Mountain State Park and a country store with excellent ice cream. We spent most of our time hiking and there is no better location in the area with the ease of access to the SP. Would highly recommend! Thank you to the owners for great communication, a perfect cabin in a great location.

Stone Mountain Log Cabin
We had a great stay. We took advantage of the full kitchen and grill and cooked nearly all our meals. The cabin had several board games to choose from which was nice since it rained most of our stay. The cabin was very close to Stone Mountain which had hikes anywhere from an hour to a full day of exploring.

Very comfy and warm. The hosts genuinely encourage you to relax and enjoy the place. We felt right at home. Lots of sweet touches, like a bin for the dogs with some toys and treats. Appreciated the cart to haul bags to the house. Unique property! Loved every minute there.

Perfect mountain weekend getaway!
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this adorable, cozy cabin! The hosts were very quick with communication and the check-in/out process was super easy. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed for a great weekend and was super tidy and clean. We had a great time sitting by the fire, hiking in Stone Mountain state park just 10 minutes away, and had a delicious meal in downtown Elkin (recommended by the hosts)! We would definitely recommend this property for a mountain getaway with friends or family.

Great Stay!
I had a great stay in the Lincoln Cabin! The cabin is very clean, well-appointed, serene, and located near great hiking options at Stone Mountain State Park. I stayed for a couple of nights after dropping off my son at a nearby camp and am looking forward to hopefully booking it again next summer.

Cabin
Convenient location to state park and small store with ice cream and snacks. Host was very helpful and responsive to my few area questions. Cabin is exactly as described. We arrived late at night, and as the A/C is in the main room, the bedrooms were warm the first night of our stay because there wasn't sufficient time for them to cool down. A small fan in each bedroom would be most welcome (we looked but did not find one). Would recommend staying here.

Peaceful, Clean and Inviting
We liked the feel of this cabin. It was clean, comfortable and inviting. It was away from the other cabin on the property. Although we didn’t need it, laundry facilities were available. Took a nice early morning walk with our dog down to the pond and fire pit area. Would have loved to have more time to explore. Overall, good short stay. We would stay here again.
