The room was clean and comfortable. Three pillows and nice mattress. There are at least four coin laundry machines, two inside women’s changing room for the public bath which was quite acceptable. Three elevators meant never a wait.
Some reviews complained about lack of parking but it’s right next to the train station. Perfect for me.
I would return.
The entry was really nice and the rooms were pretty good sized for this type of hotel in Japan. It is right at the exit of the train station with buses, and convenience stores super close. The bike and car parking were also next to the hotel, so really convenient. Takaoka is generally quiet, so it was nice and quiet while still beimg in the middle of everything.
Nice property. My wife enjoyed the indoor spa as well. Rooms are larger than most business hotels in Japan.

Henry Ford once said that a business should always try to give the customer more for their money, not less. And this seems to be the general theme of Japanese hospitality. But this hotel seems to take the opposite approach. The room was literally as small as it could possibly be and still contain a bed. I have enough experience with Japanese hotels to expect tight quarters relative to Texas, but this was really one step above a capsule hotel. They are aware of it too, because they make a point of explaining that their small rooms are for the Earth. Maybe. But the pitiful breakfast wasn't for the Earth. The whole thing was cut-rate, but to give a concrete example: the ONLY fruit on offer was canned fruit cocktail. About the only thing worth applause at this hotel is the almost immediate proximity to the station. I love Japan and almost never find anything to complain about, but this is pretty bad. Thanks for listening to my rant.
