We had a great afternoon and evening. Lucy and Sean were very friendly and welcoming as were the rest of the staff. The menu options and food was brilliant and the music in the garden was an added bonus. We will return!
It’s the most wonderful location and for that reason we would stay again, it’s quiet and the staff are lovely. The room cleanliness is poor and the cost per night doesn’t correlate, the decor is very tired too.
Perfect twin room, not the biggest but everything you need, bright, cheerful and very well presented. Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Dinner in the evening was delicious with a good selection of real ales. Breakfast room (not in the main pub) is lovely and lots of choice. Parking right outside, very handy for the Tennyson Memorial and a walk to the Needles. Can’t fault it and will definitely come back.
Very welcoming staff, excellent locally sourced breakfast.
Very tempting menus on the blackboard in the bar - it was a shame we were already booked to eat elsewhere!
Next time...
Fantastic views, great friendly staff - amazing breakfast?

Great breakfast
We checked in on a Tuesday afternoon and were shown to our room by a young lady who was young and therefore needs experience in how to pass a few pleasantries with the guests.
I have to say when I walked into our room, top of stairs first on right, I was disappointed in it for the amount of money we were paying but its location was good for a wedding nearby so...
We had dinner in the pub and the staff serving were again lacking in the friendly banter. The food was fine.
The lady serving at breakfast was much more friendly and I have to say the cooked English was lovely (you can always judge a breakfast on the quality of the bacon and sauasage used and these were excellent)
Comfortable room and good food. Very convenient for the west coast of the Isle of Wight

Liked: Amenities
The room, the food and drinks were very good. In contrast to the high standards in the property the bathroom was not up to standard. The grouting in the shower cubicle was black and needed replacing and there was nowhere to hang damp towels. This was all in contrast to the high standards elsewhere. Disappointing.

A lovely country pub in a quiet setting. Unfortunately an alarm in the kitchen, directly underneath our room, was going off all night which meant almost no sleep!
Nice pub and the rooms was nice and clean, bathroom could do with being updated though. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really nice
The check-in was super easy. Loved the concept and of this "old" times pub accommodation.
Even being an old building, it was clean and taked care off. The staff was accessible and we highly recommend you to have dinner there as the food smells amazing (we had the typical Sunday roast - huge portion and affordable).
The only thing I would say it's that the shower had no pressure and the water was not hot enough for my partner.
A pleasant pub with rooms which has a bit of character and seems popular with locals. I stayed for one night with girlfriend on a cycling holiday. Room was pleasing, staff were generally helpful and breakfast was excellent.
However, dinner was a disappointing experience. Waiting time, even for a starter, was extraordinarily long. The same for the main course, which was not as ordered.
Worrying thing about this place is that I got the distinct impression that there is one level of service for locals and another for visitors. Maybe that's how such places survive these days.
