Our time at the Broken Spur was neat. We stayed in the wagons. The bed and bunks were very comfortable and surprisingly soundproof. We couldn't hear the other families around us. The separate bath house was very close, clean and always cold, even in 95 degree weather.
It's important to note that the wagons, while air conditioned, do not stay cool during the day in the heat. They are very comfortable at night, even in August when we stayed, but not during the day. If you stay in the wagons during the heat of the summer, plan to be gone all day and return just at sunset. The facility has a pool and a conference facility that wagoneers can hang at to stay cool, if needed.
The staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make us comfortable.
