Paris Girls Trip
Last time I was in France we stayed at a chateau so I wanted to give my daughter the same experience. The castle is lovely and quite grandeur. I had questions about checking in and address etc but never received communication back from my email. Luckily I realized French addresses of chateau are largely just the name of the chateau and google maps picked it up. The castle was quite dusty and musty smelling will cat hair and dogs running around but our room was neat and tidy. Some renovations have been done but floors and most seem original. Which is why it seems musty and dusty. Much like walking around the palace of Versailles. No AC. Rooms were toasted. Couldn’t open windows because of bugs. Overall castle was great! Our bathroom was completely renovated.
The Chateau is a magnificent building in a beautiful setting. The house is surrounded by extensive lawns and woodland. The rooms made available and our bedroom were well-appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was good although it was assumed that we would want eggs and fruit juice which we didn't, so these were wasted. Although we were welcomed on arrival by one of the owners their presence was so low-key that we felt that we had been abandoned. A chance meeting after breakfast was the nearest we got to a goodbye.
We were travelling around France & staying at & reviewing a variety of Chateaux. This Chateau is stunning set in beautiful grounds. Sadly the Paris trains runs past fairly frequently and disrupts the peacefulness. The dogs welcomed us & although I am a dog lover & have 2 of my own I did feel a little intimidated initially as they swarmed the car. The owners are slightly aloof and we had to call out to them & wait for one of them to appear to check in. We sensed they disapproved of us & only accepted us once they "judged" us by our car - not the warmest of welcomes! The room was wonderful exactly what you would expect beautifully laid out, exceptional bathroom with robes & quality towels & linens. The 1st Chateau we visited with a small lift to help with luggage. Again no restaurants nearby that were open, so ensure you have lunch & take a picnic for your evening meal. Breakfast was excellent and laid out in the stunning dining room. Although the owners did speak with you - you were not made to feel welcome per se but rather you were intruding in their home. WE sat outside for a couple hours and there was at least 5-6 fast trains passing by
Spent a nice night at this impressive chateau. We were the only guests that night so it was very quiet apart from when the trains on the nearby TGV train line pass which at first I thought was a plane approaching. The rooms have no locks on the doors which felt a bit strange. Although we have no specific complaints about our stay its hard to put a finger on the way to describe how we felt there probably the word unwelcome. The breakfast was excellent. One complaint is they took payment off the credit card I had used to secure the booking without asking as I would have preferred to have paid using a different method
Hard to find. Phone calls not answered. GPS could not locate. Finally saw a sign that led us there.
Pretty place. Comfortable room but kind of worn. Bathroom ok.
We were chatting with other guests at breakfast (which was good) when we were told to get up so another couple could have our seats. They only have six dining room chairs for 5 rooms. The table could comfortably seat 10.
Such a beautiful place, in a tranquil setting. My only recommendation would be an electric fan made available in west facing rooms in summer. France was having a heat wave in July (not the hotel's fault), so the room was unfortunately quite hot at night. I'd happily stay here again and recommend it to others. Lunch or dinner can be found in the town of Vitre, about 8 kms away. Delicious breakfast was provided in a gorgeous room.
A wonderful chateaux with lots of character and very friendly owners.Room was clean, spacious and quiet.Breakfast superb. Chateaux may be a bit difficult to find but well worth the effort. Near Fougeres which is a must to visit.
Lovely property warm welcome hosts can't do enough for you spacious room good breakfast chateaux well signposted sat nav finding it easily enough highly recommended
We spent just 1 night coming back from Mont St. Michel, but enjoyed this stay very much. The house is genuine chateau, furbished with many pieces of old furniture, but brand new comfortable bed and bathroom. It is located in the quiet park (ideal for jogging, perimeter about 800 m) and the only noise you might hear is from near TGV track. Breakfast was very tasty too. For that night we felt really like aristocrats. :-)
Beautiful chateau, inside and out! Hosts were very accommodating and the place was charming. Great little bar on site and the breakfast was perfect !

tired tesnier
The setting was excellent. The hotel was tired and in need of some TLC. Two flights of steep steps, lift notworking, not good, my wife had diificulty. The room was very hot and no fans or method of cooling.
Breakfast was good very pleasant. Would need a big improvement for me to stay there again. Not worth the money. Brian Hall
This is a special Chateau with very friendly owners. We stayed in 4 Chateaus on this one month trip and this one stands out with positive owner, excellent breakfast, good country location and wonderful ambiance. We recommend to our fellow travellers.
beautiful chateau in gorgeous setting.Host is charming and made me feel at home;room was very comfortable with very thoughtful amenities ;bathrobes, kettle ,hairdryer, etc.
Breakfast delicious and abundant.
Beautiful hotel run by wonderful people.
We travelled in land to Vitre, so decided to stay in a Chateau for a change.
We are really glad we did, the grounds are wonderful and the rooms spacious and clean.
A really lovely place.
Best continental breakfast ever!
Beautiful castle - the best part of staying here is that the guests can use 2 reception rooms of the castle to relax in - the beautiful dining room for breakfasts and the library reception room for reading or relaxing during the day. There was only one other couple staying so we mostly had the space to ourselves. 4 sofas was plenty for us 2 and the other couple staying there but it might not be the case in busier months - we went in March. Either way, our room was excellent too so we'd happily have relaxed there. The house is open all day too which is great. We also liked the welcome from the house dog! The gardens could be better decorated with spring bulbs, perhaps along the drive and front of the house, and some more plants in the gardens themselves, but they were still lovely. The house has been beautifully decorated too - elegant and not too stuffy like some others we have stayed in. We would also suggest a visit to the nearby town of Vitre, which is a picturesque medieval town.

Great experience, amazing breakfast and very firendly owners. We spent 3 days and one of them all day in the castle including a picnic (great wines and cheeses from the region)
