I stayed here almost a year ago and I guess I could tolerate it. This time, with a small room, uncomfortable bed and pillows, I requested a refund for my remaining nine days. Due to coming here to study, it was imperative to get decent sleep at night so I could concentrate while in a medical clinic. Thanks to excellent customer service from Hotels.com, I not only got a refund but they found me a very comfortable place in Akasaka at MyStays, albeit significantly more expensive. Most hotels have at least one person at the front desk who can speak some English, since Tokyo is an international city. Marroad Inn is very limited in this respect.
Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff.
Typical Tokyo size room, slightly outdated but clean and has everything that I need.
The location is close to Asakusa station and close to restaurants.
Excellent option for the price. I will definitely stay at this hotel next time I am in Tokyo.
Super good room service everyday, the staff was friendly and English speaking. The area was really nice and quiet and only a few blocks away from the busy streets
We can early so we had to wait for check in time, when we finally could get our room the old style key got stuck in the lock. Inside the room was two small beds with old sheets that had ink stains and who knows what else. Decor looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 80s. We even had an non-working AM/FM radio part of the bed stand.

Decent business hotel in Akasaka
Pedestrian business hotel that served its purpose for my stay. The quality of the breakfast buffet wasn’t very good to be honest. The fish didn’t taste that fresh...
Close to a 7-11 for us foreigners and also a 20 min walk tp the Mori Museum. Remember though, have to return key to front desk before you head out and pick it back up when you return. Also no guests in your room.
In a country re-known for its hospitality, Marroad Inn is real disappointment. Beside an overall run down feel to the place, having arrived at 3am (middle of the night) the monumentally unhelpful - and almost rude - Mr. Tanabe would not provide a one hour 'late check out' past the scheduled time of 10am and insisted on charging me circa $10 if I stayed an extra hour. The other point of frustration was that of six people at the front desk/reception not one spoke any English (past 'hello'). When I travel I do not expect the world to speak English - unless perhaps they work at the reception of a hotel selling its rooms on websites catering to international visitors. Not having staff capable of speaking English, in this case, verges on disrespect. So many great and inexpensive hotels in the area. No good reason to stay at Marroad Inn.
convenient location close to akasaka station. Service average, breakfast plentiful but only average. Price good for the area. Room OK - small as expected. LAN connection in the room was good and needed as wifi only in foyer. Better coffee shops up the street and nice quiet yakitori shop across the road.
