This hotel is great! I don't know who is writing these reviews, or where they are staying. I stayed at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa. The people are amazing. Extremely helpful staff. Everyone speaks English...... and even if they didn’t, why would they? It's Japan. If you want people to speak English then you should travel to England or the United States LOL. Or maybe if you are a whiny American then you should stay home, or learn Japanese. (American here......not whiny.) Did I mention that the staff is great! I just want to make that clear. Our room was just fine, is it a brand new remodeled room? No. Our room was a big room with two double beds. The balcony is small. Room for two people to stand up. No lounging with furniture. Some balconies overlook the beautiful Japanese garden. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the room. The hotel is beautiful and amazing. I did not use any of the amenities at the property so I cannot comment on those. I am glad that I didn't let the reviews deter me from staying here. Someone also complained about there being no room to store luggage, what hotel rooms have room to store luggage? Stay at this hotel, I highly recommend it. I got a reasonable, affordable price. If you are booking during a high price time then your opinions may be different.

Overall a very pleasant stay. The only thing that wasn't so great was that the air conditioning in my room. My room rarely went below 27 degrees Celsius no matter what settings I inputted, so perhaps it was faulty. I had to resort to cold showers to cool off.

Looked nothing like the photos advertised. Old tv and old rooms. Gym was very small. All(2) of their pools were closed because it wasn’t summer, was still 35 degrees. Definitely worth trying somewhere else. Won’t be coming back.

The property was generally clean and quiet. The room was big and confortable. There were many elevators and you didn't have to wait long for one. It was also convenient - there's a 7-Eleven in the B1 level. Overall, the stay was good. The only downside was it feels a bit of a long walk from Shinagawa station when in 35degrees heat.

The lobby and room itself was clean and spacious, especially for a room in Tokyo. The staff was also very helpful, and the breakfast buffet was great. However, the bathroom had a mildew smell due to lack of ventilation, and the "fitness center" was just 2 treadmills (1 broken) and 2 stationary bikes, no weight machines. It was also oppressively hot in that room, which felt more like a repurposed office.
