We stayed in room 113. The view was expansive facing the sea and Tantegel castle. We arrived after Tantegel closed but took the hike from just outside the hotel grounds. It was beautiful. We had drinks in the bar and dinner in Irina’s restaurant. Excellent food and the staff were extremely kind!

The location was amazing, the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good, if a bit expensive. The room was a very good size with great views. However, there was a lack of plug sockets, no decent lighting near the mirror, which was a good size though. The biggest issue, the bathroom. I've seen bigger toilets on an aircraft. It was a cubicle. All plastic. I sat on the toilet and could touch the shower wall and could not straighten my arm. If your companion had needed the loo whilst you were showering, then tough. Sink very poor design for shaving. I know its an old place, but better planning when en-suite fitted should have been better. Staff just brushed aside my issues as "we know, its an old place and it takes time to renovate ". My view, at over £120 per night, without breakfast, (£15.95 extra each), the room should have been cheaper or breakfast included.

Wonderful. Surpassed expectations, an experience I will happily remember forever. Every detail went well. Would recommend to anyone, this place is among the reasons why UK and Cornwall is magic.

The weirdest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Yes it has a beautiful view, that’s the only positive thing I can say about it! Barely any parking, had to just barely squeeze in at the side and pray that nobody knocked the car overnight. The weirdest, creepiest decor. Restaurant was fully booked so couldn’t get breakfast. Carpeted port-potty style toilet and shower. Uncomfortable bed and pillows. No sound proofing between rooms. Cracks in the walls. And a photo of Trump to greet you in the foyer.

Such a beautiful and unique place and location! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the upgrade was very well received! The views are spectacular there; likely more so than I saw on the brochure, and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely go again.

This place is old and run down
Lobby looked ok, got to the room, was not clean, very dingy and musty smell renovated in the 70’s maybe? Bathroom was an insert like on an inside cabin of a cruise ship. We left immediately and found a nice new Holiday Inn.

Beautiful location to be living at, that ties in so well with the legend, but a bit of a disappointment with the standard of room. Too tired, dated and needs a lot of TLC. On the positive side, lady at Reception was genuine and friendly offering great suggestions of places to visit. Thank you :)

It’s look like very nice and clean building inside and out but rooms are very smelly and beds are uncomfortable and the worst part is that toilet, it's like plane toilet not even can change cloth inside because of the space. Family room sea view which is £270 a night without breakfast, Waste of money. Not recommended.

Lovely place to stay, so beautiful. The bathrooms are odd and not in keeping with the property, they feel more like caravan toilets. Breakfast was good, but the continental option was not great. Would happily stay again however due to great staff and such a pretty location.
