Our stay at bay ocean retreat
Location was great! Beds were comfy. The Kitchen living dining area was great for gathering with family. There is carpet in the upstairs bathroom which was not our favorite, but the water pressure and hot water were limitless, which was awesome! The on site hot tub is wonderful too and taken care of! The home was clean, but a bit dusty. My first impression was that it wasn’t as organized and as homey as some homes we’ve stayed in, but it was clean and comfortable and we appreciated the location and amenities that this home has to offer.

Stinky And Dirty
The location is good, but everything but the kitchen is outdated and smells like mildew. There is carpet in the bathroom and 70’s carpet in the queen room that feels wet to the touch. There is dried mud under an outdated and stinky chair that showed me that jt has probably flooded, which explains the smell. Way too many stairs for old men and dogs. Unkempt, broken screens, windows and the screen door pops off. Not to mention I found a dead bug in the bed this morning upon check out. I don’t do negative reviews, but this was exceptional. Should not be a Vacasa. Does not meet the standard. It should absolutely be renovated before renting out again.

Almost Perfect
More detail needs to be given to cleaning. Upstairs bedrooms had strong pet soil odor & the whole downstairs smelled strong of mildew. My brother's sock fell behind the dresser dowstairs & when he retrieved it, he found 2 moldy towels. Some furniture could definitely use an update to make home more appealing. Deck needs to be upgraded for safety. Kitchen & living room are nice. Neighborhood is nice. Walk to beach is lovely.

Peaceful retreat in Cape Meares
The property was adequate for our 3 day stay. The beach was close however the path down to the beach was not easily navigated by anyone with mobility issues (arthritic knees!). The saving grace was a bench located close to this path that you could sit on and take in the ocean and people watch. The house fit our needs but is in need of some TLC.

Lots of space. Would be easy for two families to enjoy with a separate lower level. Great proximity to beach access and nice deck. Furnished with appropriate accessories and furniture for the needs of the space. Updated open upper level kitchen. Would stay again.

Nice beach house
Nice location. Easy check in and out. We come to Cape Meares many times a year and we’ve stayed in this house a handful of times. unfortunately it’s not our first choice. It needs some tlc. There’s been some upgrades to the kitchen, but the bedrooms, beds, bathroom and the entire downtstairs needs to be fixed up + the linens could be replaced. Carpet in the bathroom and bedrooms upstairs smells like mildew and I hate to say it, urine. We don’t use the downstairs when stay in this house, which is unfortunate because it’s a three bedroom and it’s not cheap. With a few small upgrades this place would be awesome!

Enjoyed very much
The property is in very good location. Very quiet and relaxing and a short few minutes walk to the beach. I think the beach is enclosed by the cliffs on both sides so it was the least amount of wind I had ever experienced on the beach in Oregon. The house has been updated partially and the kitchen is amazing with the amazing view of the ocean. The bed was very comfortable in the master bedroom. I always need a chiropractor after staying somewhere but I feel rested now even though my 1 year old did not sleep very well. The hot tub was amazing and very clean. There are some updates that still needed in the house. Mainly downstairs would be good to make it more homey. A king size bed would be awesome there. Upstairs I was not crazy about flooring in the bathroom especially in a rental. Overall we loved our stay and if possible would love to come back next year!

Location great, cleanliness not so much
We have stayed in the house a total of 2 times now. We chose to stay here again as we really enjoyed the location and the house met our needs. However I was really disappointed in the cleanliness of the house this stay. I know that the home is animal friendly but I expect at least the extra fees bring your pets would go to the extra cleaning needed in the home. I am sad to say that was not the case. The table was covered in animal hair, there was hair on the couch and under the couch. It does not take much to move a couch on hardwood floor and mop under it. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and every dish we got out of the cupboard needed cleaning before we could use it. The fridge also was dirty and the griddle on the stove had burn food on it that needed cleaning before we could use it. We received a text message survey about the cleanliness of the home on the first day and I responded to multiple replies for pictures and descriptions but no one reached out to us to remedy the issues. We chose to stay here again mainly because of the location and that the home had a hot tub which was an amenity that we wanted. We got there the first day and the hot tub would not heat up to temp. We called the next morning and asked for it to be fixed and was assured it would be. We left for the day and when we returned 8 hours later no one had been there to fix the hot tub. When we called VACASA they had no record of our previous phone call. We ended up fixing the hot tub ourselves so that we could use it. We received a phone call the next day from the maintenance manager who assured us the problem had previously been resolved by and electrician and we would get a credit for our troubles. Either the electrician took the homeowners money and didn't fix the issue or the maintenance man was telling us what we wanted to hear. We have yet to see a credit on our account. We have many memories that will last a lifetime from both of our stays in this home which will be cherished. However we will not be returning. We made the most of our stay here despite the issues we had.

Dirty But Close to the beach
The instructions left at the house need to be updated. Especially for the hot tub, they mentioned "packets" and a "chlorine floater" but none excited, and There was no way to clean the hot tub, so by the second night it was kinda gross. No seating outside, you have to bring your own camping chairs if you want to sit by a fire or on the deck. For the big fuss they made about telling us their professional cleaning staff would be in just before and after us, the house was not clean. There were cobwebs, and dirt, and a smell in just about every room. However, The toilets were clean, the bedding smelled clean, and the house was very close to the beach.

Nice location, but dirty house
I'm usually pretty tolerant about things, but this property was pretty dirty. A large spill in the kitchen that looked like it had been there awhile, counters not wiped well, thick dust under furniture and Cheetos spilled in the couch cushions. The main living area of the house was fixed up nicely, but the bedrooms were old and dated. This would have been fine, if they were at least clean. The worst part was bedbugs. We took pictures and were able to catch some in a bottle to show the property manager so he could verify that they were bedbugs. The manager responded quickly when we called to report the bugs. However, the follow up customer service has been poor. There was no compensation for the mess (although it was mentioned) or for the bedbug problem. We have spent weeks since we came home trying to rid our belongings of the bedbugs. The property manager did tell me the bedbugs are cleaned out from this property ,but sadly, we are still dealing with the after effects at our homes.

Beach was Amazing
This place was nice overall but the hot tub never went above 98 degrees, so it was more of a warm tub and that was a bummer. My mom also got attacked by something and bit up so bad we took her to the hospital, Maybe a spider? Had a late check in becuase the people before us weren’t very clean. When we finally got in I could tell they tried to hurry so we had to clean again. The beach here is absolutely amazing! We spent most of our time at the beach. House was cozy, I would stay again for sure as long as I was assured they fixed the heating element in the hot tub.

Look under the couch !
Funky place. Good main level room, dining kitchen, living room set up for socializing. Bathrooms clean. I’m not a princess but I can tell this place might be too “ lived in” compared to the sterility or some beach rentals. Oven doesn’t close, bad stove. I got several emails from Vacasa saying how clean the place would be but there was yuck yuck under the couch. Downstairs papacy was so mildew-y that it was uninhabitable.

House was not very clean, sand in hot tub and no BBQ grill when the online post said there was one.
It wasn’t hard to rent this property. The location was nice and it was close to the beach. The house was basic and not very clean. We brought food to grill but there was no BBQ grill. Downstairs TV wasn’t hooked up to watch cable or movies, you had to pick one or the other. DVD player on the room didn’t work.

Not as nice as pictures make it look
Overall it was fine. Close walk to the beach, dog friendly, hot tub. When we arrived, I looked through the guest book, they provide propane but no bbq. Very disappointed in that. The hot tub was not ready for us when we got there. When the maintenance guy came out to fix it, he was very nice and got the hot tub up and running again. The cable remote was missing as well when we first got there, but the maintenance man got us one. The pics online made the house look much nicer than it is. The furniture is old and very run down. I mean it was cozy, just not as nice as anticipated. I was disappointed with the amenities provided, we rent from HomeAway 2-3 times a year and this is the only house that didn’t provide coffee, a hair dryer, or a bbq. I mean most places I stay provide a bottle of wine too. All and all, it was an ok stay. We spent a lot of time on the beach, it was a nice close walk and we lucked out with gorgeous days.

Spacious place, with a nice hot tub and a great view.
Had a great time. The beach there in Cape Meares is wonderful, and the view of it from the dining room is gorgeous. Very nice hot tub. Overall good experience. The late check out was nice for my group. None of us had cell reception in the house, but the wifi worked great. I've seen others mention the smell. A musky scent does linger, and is worse downstairs, but it was never much of an issue for us.

The house is nice, but..
Let me start with the nice things about the house. 1) The view is amazing. It is a short 2 block walk to the beach. 2) The house is laid out well. Plenty of room for 2 families. 3) They allow dogs, so our friends could come and not have to board their dog. 4) The upstairs beds are fairly comfortable. 5) The hot tub is amazing! It works well and is really comfortable! Now the bad things. 1) The TVs down stairs are ancient. My daughter had to stick her finger into a hole to make it come on because the remote didn't have batteries. There are 3 dead TVs just sitting down there. I know the old TVs are heavy, but have someone haul them off! 2) The bed downstairs is cheap and very uncomfortable. It's the kind of mattress you get for $200 on sale. Not much better than sleeping on the floor! 3) The coffee pot took an hour to make 1 pot of coffee (I timed it after the first pot "seemed" to take a while) 4) It was cold and the blankets on the beds are old and threadbare, so if you go in the winter, bring extra covers! If they get these few things fixed, it will be amazing! We always head to the coast in Winter to escape the cold and dark days. Cape Meares is a great place for kids and dogs, very safe and very quiet! We would stay there again. We would just plan to bring our own stuff. I know that is not always an option for visitors
