The room and hotel were generally large and clean. The location was great, since it was within a 10-minute walk of the main tourist area with tons of restaurants and the beach. It’s far enough away to be very quiet at night from the hustle and bustle of the nightlife.
However…
There were multiple issues with the room and some of the staff. First, the we could not get access the internet in our room.
Repeated calls to the front desk resulted in a maintenance person showing at 9 PM on our second night. All he did was check to see if he could get on the Net using his phone, which he could not.
Then, there was the wall safe, which locked up after the second time I used it. The maintenance workers, who were the most professional of all of Oceanview’s employees, came at 9:30 PM (the same time the employee working on the Wi-Fi gentleman was there) and broke open the safe with a crowbar. I’ll say two things apart from our neighbors who were angry about the noise: 1) those safes are EXTREMELY strong, and 2) it was a lot of fun to watch those guys destroy one.
Most egregious of all was the front desk employee who was too busy looking at her phone to answer my question. She stopped in midsentence to check her phone and then stopped talking altogether as she began typing on it. I was forced to ask her a question again, to which she replied “yeah” without looking up from her phone.
