Customs Building
Customs Building To the north of the Pánuco River, a beautiful red British brick building stands, a symbol of incalculable historical value in Tampico: the Maritime Customs. Created by decree in 1827, it began to acquire boom in 1850 thanks to the booming economy and development of international trade. The current Customs building was inaugurated on October 16, 1902 by Don Porfirio Díaz, reflecting in its design and details a marked English style. It was built with cast iron prefabricated elements from France, with amazing windows, doors and other elements of Louisiana wood.
