This hotel is very central to everything you would want in Taipei: quite a gem really. We used the subway system extensively, which is only minutes away. Plenty of nice small eating places nearby. Our room was huge: in-room amenities great, staff always a great help and the shower was especially fantastic. Nothing negative to report. Would we stay again: definitely & especially at the fantastic 7-night rate we got through Expedia. Easy to get around & the locals were very friendly. This was our first time in Taipei/Taiwan: super stay, especially the food: lots of it and cheap. We are happy to do this honest review as we are a married couple, over 65, fit and know how important these reviews are to us and our fellow travellers. Thanks for your time, ALGreynomads.

The location of the hotel is next to the subway station and that makes it easy to travel all the poplular toursit spot in Taipei. There are many resturants close to the hotel so the walking distance to get good and reasonable priced food is less than 2-3 minutes. The famous lane 216 is about three minutes away and you can get famous slush ice desert there. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only area that the hotel could improve is their breakfast. Although it only adds a dollar to the room price to include the breakfast, I wish they could charge a little more to improve the selection of the items. For example, they could offer more selections of the eggs. They only offer tea egg in the orning. I had difficulty to peel the egg shell for two days in a row. The supply of fruits and soy bean milk seems limited. If you go to the breakfast late, such as 9:30am (the breafast hours is up to 10:00am), the soy bean milk is not replenished and the dragon fruits are all gone. I stayed at the hotel for 15 nights. I only went to eat breakfast the first three days. I gave up after that. In general, the sound insulation of the room is good but not great. I could hear the loud music, conversation, or laughing around mid-night. I was thinking to cqll the front desk at the time. But I was not sure where the noise was generated and decide to wait. Most of the nights, the noise stopped after 20-30 minutes. Don't know if other guests complained and staff stopped them.

the toilet + shower room came with automatic door which was good for disable people but was considered an annoyance to us. Other than that, the facility seems to be new (or well kept) and we are quite happy with it. The staff serving the breakfast were extremely friendly, very helpful and really hardworking. the breakfast was fresh, rich and delicious. It is better than what we had in other hotels in Taipei.

Poor Hospitality and Rigid Policies Ruined Stay

We stayed at Green World Zhongxiao for 3 nights and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.When we arrived, we requested an early check-in which was granted, but from the beginning the staff’s attitude was unwelcoming. We were given a list of strict rules, including being told that housekeeping would not clean our room during our stay (as they only service rooms after 3 days). The instructions were delivered in a rude and impolite manner, which set a negative tone.Our room had no windows, smelled unpleasant, and lacked ventilation or fresh air. Although we accepted this, it was uncomfortable. Breakfast was included in our stay, but every day we went around 9 a.m. and most of the food was already finished. Some items were replenished later, but the selection was almost identical each morning and very repetitive. I would not recommend the breakfast unless you are fine with having the same limited choices every day.On our last day, we requested a late check-out, but the receptionist was quite rude and warned us that if we did not check out at exactly 11 a.m., we would immediately be charged 600 NTD. While they did allow us to store our luggage until 3 p.m., our driver was delayed by 15 minutes and we were anxious they might refuse to hold it longer. Thankfully, they let us pick it up without issue.Overall, this hotel created more stress than comfort. The staff’s unfriendly behavior, the long list of restrictions, and the lack of hospitality made our stay unpleasant.
