Really nice place. Stayed in the "Bluebell" room. Was disappointed to see the condition of the paintwork surrounding the light fitting by the wardrobe; doesn't scream "4 star hotel". Also, I was a little disappointed that there were so few channels available on the TV. Other than that, I was impressed.
We loved The Upper House. Friendly people and great food.

Beautiful stunning settung & building but feel needs some money spending on rooms to bring them up to date.
Breafawas terrible. Left the lot because it was swiming in grease
Great value for money though
Lovely family-run friendly hotel. Spotlessly clean and always welcoming and helpful staff. I arrived late and tired and immediately felt relaxed. Great choice at breakfast. Enough free parking. Walkable to the village and a lovely National Trust countryside. Two easy to follow walk routes available at reception. Set in a beautiful garden and grounds, on a hill so great views. The room was very comfortable and had everything you would need.
Our room was small but cute. We had everything we needed & the bed was super comfy. Staff were lovely & helpful. My only issue ( & it’s a small one) is I ordered scrambled eggs for breakfast but what I got was like a cut up omelette. Would stay again!
Lovely hotel and grounds. Room too small have stayed before in room with a balcony and that was lovely. Disappointed with breakfast. Only white bread available and breakfast was nothing special spongy black pudding and hard bacon.
This was our second stay at the property. We returned not only for the beautiful location & accommodation, but we also enjoyed our dining experience very much. The included breakfast was far above average in terms of selection, taste, and service, and the dinner options were superb. Parking is convenient and included. There is a lift if you need it, and they also have improved their Wifi since our last visit last year. A loud event took place at the hotel our last night but we received communication about it beforehand so it wasn't a problem (music off before 11pm). Our only regret was not taking advantage of the gorgeous lounge for an evening drink!
We’ve just spent two wonderful weeks at this property visiting from Canada. All the staff are very helpful and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Already planning a return visit next year.
