She’s not a looker from the outside but the rooms are clean, very comfy and at a very affordable price. Im a picky traveler and gave this place a shot and now I would definitely come back. The staff is so helpful and friendly and they make the whole experience that much better. We paid at least half of what others paid for parents weekend. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay this past PSU parents' weekend at the Northland Motel. The motel is a hidden gem. It has clean, updated rooms and very comfortable beds. Most importantly, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful (Michael and Pam!) and really made the stay so nice. The motel is attached to a very fun bowling alley, and we had some fun family time there as well. We will definitely stay again.

Rarely will you ever find a cleaner & upgraded motel than this one. Lady at check in was super nice. You could tell the room was very clean. Would definitely do again. Excellent value. Got free water and chocolate mints. Free shoe rental with bowling alley next door yet you can’t hear any noise. Gem 💎 of a motel. Felt safe.

Stop looking elsewhere! This motel is a hidden gem! Clean, modern, comfy beds, hairdryer, water and chocolates await you at check in. Nice size fridge and microwave in each room.As a life long ( now retired) business traveler Id take this motel over the big box hotels! Affordable near Penn State. It's attached to a bowling alley which is additional entertainment. It's obvious the owner has taken GREAT pride in their establishment! So look no further.

The room was very clean. The AC was loud and there were some minor repairs needed (towel racks hanging on loosely), but all in all the room met our needs. We also had a late night snack at the little bar/grill attached to the motel which also worked nicely--no fighting football crowds and literally walked out the door and over to our room.

If you're looking for a wonderful and clean place to stay, Northland Motel is for you! There's no bells and whistles (pool or gym area), but there is an amazing bowling alley literally attached to the motel! The room was cute, very clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. I could recommend them anymore. We'll definitely be staying again!! Thank you for a wonderful time!

I have been to many motels in the past but this one was one of the best motels that I have stayed in. Very clean and up to date furnishings. It was a great overnight experience. ONE critique that I have is that they did not have an iron or ironing board in our room. Overall great place to stay.

A Wonderful Budget Hotel

Budge hotel wise, it’s hard to beat this hotel. Clean, decent sized room and comfortable beds. Convenient and safe location. Little things like pieces of chocolates on your nightstand show how they care for you. I would give this place a 5 star. But since it is lumped with other hotels, for a basic budget hotel, a 4 star is quite remarkable.

The Big Lebowski Audio Tape

This was an affordable motel close to Penn State. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The only odd part about it is it's built adjacent to a bowling alley. You could hear the bowling balls rolling and the pins falling. But I honestly didn't mind it; it was incredibly soothing and I fell asleep quickly every night. Like the sounds of a summer storm. I was also told the food at the Bowling Alley was excellent, but didn't get a chance to try it.
