EXTRAORDINARY!
Our stay at the Secluded Zen River Retreat was simply magical! Nestled deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this peaceful escape provided breathtaking views, soothing river sounds, and an abundance of nature. We loved exploring the walking trails, relaxing by the river, and unwinding on the large deck. The open dining area and cozy wood stove made it feel like home. Perfect for nature lovers and anyone seeking tranquility. Highly recommended for a memorable getaway!

Beautiful location
Such a wonderful getaway. Quiet except for the running stream. Open floorplan with wide-open windows that let the beauty of the trees refresh you, mind and soul. Great communication from the hosts made it easy to find, check-in, and check-out.

Reconnecting
What a beautiful location! This was exactly what we needed; no distractions allowed us to stay up late and share time talking, listening to the rain while we worked a puzzle! We visited Muse vineyards, Blue Mountain Brewery, Old Trade Brewery and Cidery and WAR craft brewing. All dog friendly! I wish there had been a washer/dryer at the house to help with the wet clothes but other than that our stay was wonderful!

Reconnect with nature
The property is fantastic! So much nature and the water makes it perfect. If you enjoy a good disconnect and enjoy being outside this place is for you. I would recommend the owners update furniture and rearrange it bc there is so much potential in the cabin but the way it is setup makes it difficult to enjoy. The outside gets all the stars though.

Perfect getaway!
My husband and i brought our two dogs here for a little getaway trip and we all absolutely loved it! The property is gorgeous and the house is very comfortable. We have t-mobile phone service and it definitely was spotty, but we had decent service throughout the whole area/property. The directions definitely are tricky but we were able to figure it out with a little patience! It was just the little reset we all needed and we'd love to stay here again!

Secluded Quirky Cabin
Secluded location though a short drive to Shenandoah Natl Park. Fronts on a creek with relaxing sounds of moving water. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great; the furniture downstairs could use an upgrade. Large kitchen area with everything we needed. A nice place to escape for a few days.

Beautiful secluded stay
My partner and I came to stay at the Zen River Retreat for a few nights after our wedding as a little mini-moon. We wanted a quiet place in the area, and were both drawn to this secluded wooded cabin with a creek. What a nice retreat to relax and spend time with each other after such a busy time. The cabin was clean and all instructions were clear. I have AT&T and had a bit of phone service (mostly outside). This was the perfect distance from the sunrise hike we wanted to do - Bearfence Rock Scramble. And we discovered the best local artist shop in Stanardsville - Noon Whistle Pottery (a must-visit while in the area).
