Beautiful view great wildlife
The view was nice as well as the wildlife we wish we knew more about staying in the islands in the mountains-the power goes out a lot but he had a generator which allows some of the electric to work we had no internet all week and we were told that was normal as well and was worse since the hurricane. The host was nice and did help when he could especially with the generator. And with the washout on the mountain roads you definitely need a jeep or high clearance or you will bottom out in a low car causing damage to the rental this is not just for heading to the property but lots of the view points we saw several cars bottom out when we stopped.

Great host
Great host, amazing views, good price. Only issue we had is that the power was down from the electric company, but Steve had solar and generator to supplying. Because of the lack of constant power we did not have WiFi and ac only here and there. But over all the place is beautiful and stave is great!

Recomendado!

A little slice of heaven
This place was amazing! The sunrise from the balcony over the mountains was stunning every morning. The evening was filled with sounds of the ocean crashing on the distant mountain sides and the forest would come alive, with frogs and other sounds of the night. The mornings were filled with songs of a multitude of birds. It’s quaint, it’s peaceful and it’s away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas of the island, it’s near hull bay where the bar has the best Mahi bites on the island that we had, and magens bay which was our favorite spot to frequent for the beach. Definitely worth every cent. Steve was amazing to deal with and his dogs agent and trinity were so happy to meet us after he asked if it was ok. They were so sweet! 5/5 for everything !!

Peaceful retreat
Very cozy place. It is quite far from downtown which was great for us because we were looking for a secluded spot. I did not think of renting a jeep but would highly recommended as the island is almost all mountain. Has the best restaurant almost walking distance: the fish bar. Went there every night.

We stayed at Steve’s VRBO and the view was phenomenal!! The tv didn’t work, but it was only an issue for morning cartoons while we made breakfast. Who wants to watch tv on vacation? Steve was very accommodating and helped us find the VRBO because we had issues initially with our GPS. Our stay was short but it was nice and intimate. Thanks Steve!

This property was very clean. Steve was very friendly, fast and responsive to any messages. We did meet him once while sitting on back deck. Back deck had an amazing view of the ocean. The water for shower, etc was on a pressure system. Took a minute to get used to but everything went very well. Road was washed away a bit in the mountain definitely would recommend a suv. Definitely would rent from his property again.

Fantastic views
The property is up in the mountains and the view from the deck is fantastic. Because it’s in the mountains, a car is necessary and should be, IMHO, all-wheel drive or 4x4, I’m a Jeep guy so that’s what we rented. You don’t need it for off roading however if the roads are wet, you will spin tires on some of the steep sharp turns on the island and maybe on the driveway to the main road. It’s steep. Forget Google maps for directions, it lead us wrong a couple of times, Apple Maps was accurate. The property listing was spot on. While it has 2 bedrooms, it would be a little tight for 4 but for two of us, it was fine. Beds were comfortable and the bedrooms a good size. The bathroom is big with a huge shower. Everything worked and the place was clean. Kitchenette had what we needed to mainly make breakfast as we spent our days exploring. The deck, the view, the stars a perfect place to chill. Communication with the owner was excellent. He was quick to respond to our questions gave us good information and recommendations on where to get things like groceries. As for the island, so much to do. I think our favorite beach was Little Megan’s Beach. Megan’s Beach was packed so we made our way to Little Megan’s and there was only one other couple on the beach.

Great location. DONT LISTEN THE 4X4 NEEDY PEOPLE!!
We drove up and down for eight days with a yaris hatchback. The people who are crying about needing a 4x4 shouldn't leave home. There is no walk to the beach as that was an error by vrbo, not steve himself. There is no oven so keep in mind that you cant buy pizzas etc. There are only 2 chairs in the living room. We brought the lawn chairs i n as we had 4 people. Worked fine. If you are a person who only cares about a place to sleep when you are on vacation this is perfect. In the mornings tortoises are on the road and driveway. Who hangs out at a vrbo all day anyways? Oh yeah, people who need a 4x4 to get up a driveway.

Amazing view
The pictures are a good depiction of the place. It’s a good mid-range stay with an amazing view. Would definitely recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle. The partial dirt road gets a little slick when it rains. The closest beach is Hull Bay, a great local hangout, about a 10 minute drive away. Would definitely recommend if you want to be away from the crowds but close to a few good restaurants & beaches. Steve was very helpful with whatever questions/needs that we had. We would definitely stay here on our next trip back to St Thomas.

Island Apartment Getaway
This apartment is Definitely off the Beatin path, Highly recommend a jeep there is steep hills n very bumpy road. Its a very Beautiful Secluded Apartment that is connected to Steve's House. The Deck has a beautiful overlook of the Caribbean really enjoyed that.Never got to meet Steve and shake hands but he did reply to all my texts.Apartment has 2 good size rooms and a long sitting area with a kitchen.A good size TV and couple cozy chairs. Each room has there own AC thank goodness because without that would been hard for a city Slicker to sleep lol.For the price this apartment cost was pretty good. There was 4 adults staying wish it had 2 bathrooms but would be perfect for a couple.Bathroom shower was huge plenty of HOT water. If you're wanting a fairly decent place to stay on a budget and just 2 people and don't mind driving some backroad then I would recommend.I wish I could've personally met Steve(Did meet his Son)But other than that Not really any complaints.

Great getaway spot! Steve was awesome, very communicative, and the apartment is close drive to Hull Bay Beach which is a great local beach with a restaurant/bar and view of the sunset! Only tricky part was the road/driveway- rent an suv for sure! Clean, tranquil and gives you a true feel for island life - the view from the balcony was spectacular!

A little piece of paradise
Our family had a great time in St Thomas and our stay at Northshore was wonderful. Steve and Jessie are great hosts. The apartment has all the necessary basic for meals preps. The driveway to the apartment was challenging with a Kia Forte, so a 4x4 jeep suggested by Steve is highly recommended. We loved the view from the back balcony. The soursop was amazing. During our short visit, we went to Hull Bay, Magen Bay, Mermaid chair, top of the Mountain, and also Brewer Bay. Thank you for everything.

Luxury Vacation on a Budget
If you want to have your USVI trip be affordable but still have it all, I HIGHLY recommend this lodging. I brought 2 teens & was concerned about the drive to this place from others' comments. Unless you want to stay on a resort property much of your trip, renting a Jeep is the best thing to do in USVI to explore freely & not pay the per person taxi fare. And thus, if you have a Jeep, why not save $ and stay outside of the tourist areas? Was my 1st time driving a Jeep which has all the power you need on this mountain island, & we personally loved bouncing around on the dirt road down to this property. It's not far off main road (2 min?), no danger on that road whatsoever, & easy to find house. You just look out for tortoises crossing the road there. Adorable. We loved it! Compared to every lodging I looked at, this place is a bargain to get 2 quiet bedrooms with great AC + separate dining/TV area + balcony with gorgeous view & sounds of birds/wildlife (no urban noise). The place was 100% clean & has backup solar power if outage. Steve always responded immediately to texts & either he or his son would quickly get us anything we needed. They completely give you your space--no interaction unless you seek it. He's been on the island for decades & can give you great advice. Have your cake & eat it too. We managed to spend a couple days at The Ritz's pools & shaded lounge chairs. Just make a breakfast/lunch reservation & show reservation # at the guard station. You're welcome.

The title says it all, what a view! Upon check in, you will find a stocked fridge and mini bar. The kitchen has all the basics. Fully stocked bathroom. Each bedroom had its own AC. Yes, the unit does have a unique layout. But our family of 3 made it work just fine. The owner is on site and can help with anything you need. Book this property! You won't be disappointed.

The location is beautiful. It’s peaceful and quiet, plus it’s not hard to travel to other places. I recommend renting a car, it will make traveling around the island so much easier.

Poor cleanliness
Check-in process was easy and Steve was very helpful in finding the property location. Unfortunately, the cleanliness in the property was poor. There were bugs, dirt on the floors and mildew in the shower. Prior to travel, owner indicated that they were using a cleaning service, but later showed us products he had been using to clean the property himself. Description says there are two friendly dogs, but owner warned us that one dog would be aggressive with our child if given the opportunity. Would highly recommend a Jeep rental for the property as the dirt roads to / from the property are very steep with large rocks.

Fun but remote
The VRBO was great! It was a bit more bare bones than we expected. The layout of the place is a little funky. The stove made us a little nervous but there were no catastrophes! Steve was very nice and extremely helpful. Definitely went above and beyond our expectations. The biggest downside is that it's out of the way so you NEED a car to get around. Most taxi company's won't even drive the road to get there because it's pretty sketchy. But we made do with renting a car. It wasn't ideal but it was definitely freeing to be able to go where we wanted when we wanted. For three broke millennials, this was the perfect Caribbean vacation!
