Cozy Norris Cottage in downtown St. Marys~walk to Cumberland Is ferry~King bed

Fall is one of the best times to visit St. Marys! Cozy Norris Cottage is located in historic downtown St. Mary’s, just five blocks from the riverfront area with restaurants, shops, museums, and the ferry to Cumberland Island National Seashore all within walking distance.
Not planning a trip out to Cumberland? How about a day trip to Jekyll and St Simon Islands to the north? Or Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach, Jacksonville, or St. Augustine to the south? Don’t forget about the Okefenokee Swamp just an hour to our west.
And if you have a loved one stationed at Kings Bay, then this is the place to stay while visiting.

This cozy cottage is tucked away off the street down a picket fence lined driveway. You’ll be encouraged to sit awhile on the front porch with seating for two to relax and enjoy a morning coffee. The dining area has seating for five with a cute corner breakfast nook and chairs. The table can be expanded with a leaf tucked away inside. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to cook great meals at home. There is a Keurig coffee maker with a variety of coffee pods, creamer, and sugar provided. The living room has a spacious sofa and loveseat, a Roku TV, and an electric fireplace to help you relax after a day exploring the area. The master bedroom has a comfortable king sized bed, a cozy reading chair, a Roku TV, and it’s own en-suite master bathroom with double vanity and walk-in shower. The second bedroom has full sized bunk beds and it’s own adjoining bathroom with tub shower combo. There is a CordaRoy brand bean bag in the corner of the second bedroom that can be used for extra seating in the living room but also unzips and contains a 60”x60” floor mattress suitable for a child up to about age 8 to sleep on. There is a third half bathroom and a small laundry closet with washer and dryer on either side of the small hallway. On the backside of the house off the kitchen is the screened porch with an outside dining table, a pair of rocking chairs, a pair of arm chairs, and string lights along the ceiling that are on a timer, all to help you enjoy our south Georgia climate to its fullest. A pair of adult cruiser bikes are there for you to use on your exploration of downtown St. Mary’s. ———————————Jacksonville International Airport is 31 miles (approximately 30-35 away minutes).

Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base is 7 miles away (10-15 minutes). Perfect if visiting a loved one stationed there.

We had a fantastic stay at Cozy Norris Cottage! The house was so cute, clean and comfortable. All the little touches in the house made us feel so welcomed and pampered. Enjoyed our day at Cumberland Island. Eileen was an excellent host and was very responsive. We all enjoyed our coffee sitting in the screened in porch. The squirrels and little lizards in the yard put on a show fir us! The Keurig coffeemaker and assorted coffees were convenient and easy. Thank you so much!!

This is a lovely cottage decorated beautifully. I would prefer a drip coffeemaker. The cottage has practically everything you need. We will definitely be going back with our coffeemaker.

Norris St Cottage
We stayed at the Norris cottage for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The town of St Mary’s was charming. Cumberland Island on Okefenoke Swamp were really fun to visit. The cottage was just as advertised and perfect for us. It was clean, quiet, the kitchen was well stocked, bathrooms were nice and beds were comfortable. For the price, it exceeded our expectations.

St. Mary's cottage
The cottage was lovely...very nice furnishings and finishes. The host provided area information ahead of time. Everything we might need was thoughtfully provided...even a drawer of "in case you forgot something" items. We saw "wildlife" in the yard: cardinals, woodpeckers and blue jays. The cottage is in a quiet neighbohood but close to the shops and restaurants along the waterfront. The screened back porch would have been lovely to spend time on, had the weather not been unseasonably cold and rainy.

A Peaceful Cute Retreat
The Norris Cottage is a wonderful place to stay in Saint Mary's. The cottage is amazingly clean and well appointed. Eileen is a gracious host who responds quickly to any question or request. She has made sure the cottage has just about everything you would need and sometimes even things you may not have thought you would need to enjoy your stay in Saint Mary's. We believe you will enjoy the cottage as much as we did. We hope you will choose this as your temporary home when you visit the area.

Perfect Little Paradise!
Norris Cottage was absolutely perfect for our brother-sister getaway! The cottage was very clean, quiet and exceptionally comfortable. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, which gave us our own private bedroom/bathroom space. Our favorite part of the cottage was the spacious screened in porch. We spent a lazy late Sunday afternoon chatting and putting together a puzzle after a morning trip to Amelia Island. It is an easy walk to restaurants, live music, waterfront park and the Cumberland Island Ferry. We had a wonderful time.

Perfect place to relax
Norris Cottage is the perfect place to relax after a busy day on Cumberland Island. The spacious, open house is designed for a family. One bedroom has full-size bunk beds and an adjoining bathroom; second bedroom has a king-sized bed with adjoining master bathroom and there is a hall half bath. All the beds are comfortable. Thick towels and soft sheets. The house is spotlessly clean. Bright, seashore décor, wood floors, and a sunny dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with high-end pots and pans, plastic dishes for young children, frozen beer mugs in the freezer, and even includes a rice cooker. Top of the line appliances and clothes washer and dryer. Everything is provided for a relaxing stay: two beach bikes and helmets, insulated bags to bring a picnic to the beach, and even insect repellent. The cottage is behind the main house, with parking next to the cottage. The neighborhood is quiet. At night all you hear is the wind. Communication with the host was excellent. Eileen sent links to information about a day trip to Cumberland Island and area restaurants.

Better than advertised!
We rent properties several times a year on VRBO and, I have to say, this property was one of our favorites so far! The house was immaculate. I cooked several times and the kitchen was large and well stocked with cookware. The back porch was even nicer than it appears in the photos! It was a short walk to the ferry and the road we walked along to get there had virtually no traffic. It was quiet at night, which is always appreciated. We very much look forward to staying here again!

Sweet little cottage retreat!
It's the details that make this cottage special. From the fully stocked coffee bar to the cute beach bikes, Eileen really thought of everything. There was even bug spray on the back porch. It was also very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed exploring St. Mary's by bike, taking the ferry to Cumberland Island, and hitting Fernandina Beach. It was a low key, quiet, peaceful week. We slept in, ate great dinners, and relaxed.

This property was a perfect fit for my wife and I. It was VERY clean and comfortable and plenty of space. Loved the outside screened back porch and the ability to park right in front of the house. Great location. Walking distance to the downtown historic area. Would highly recommend staying here if you visit St. Mary's.

Ideal location, terrific host!
The Norris St. Cottage is a gem! It’s the ideal location a couple blocks off the main street, so it’s close to everything but nice and quiet. The cottage is roomy and immaculately clean. It’s well stocked with paper goods, kitchen utensils and appliances, and linens. And the host is friendly and responsive; we had great communication before, during and after our stay. We will definitely book this property again!
