Property stunk of cigarettes, the first room I was put in smelled so badly of cigarettes it made my eyes water. The brick outside of the pool on the exterior had been painted and now the brick is spalling badly and there's algae growth apparent on the white exterior. Despite the language of the website sounding like docking is included it costs a whopping $5/ft/day on rotted docks with leaky water spigots and sketchy shore power connections. The municipal owned launch adjacent the hotel (on their property) is so poorly maintained i was unable to launch my boat there. Inexperienced and rude boaters have power loaded so much there is an insurmountable mound of rock and debris just past the ramp that you cannot see from the ramp (it can be seen from the dock). The staff is the only saving grace this facility has going for it and the owners of this place clearly don't value them at all because the place is an outdated, neglected, unsafe dump. The fact that I was charged more than $100/night for a stay at such an unkempt piece of real estate is highway robbery. Stay elsewhere, the Riveredge Resort is definitely no longer what it once lay have been.
The property needs renovations. It is poorly maintained and my stay was just a huge disappointment. The room was not clean; with crumbs and dust on the floor. There were holes in the wall in the bathroom. There was no service provided; toilet got clogged, called room service and they brought me a plunger to do it myself. There was no safe in the room. However, they did put up a sign that anything missing from the room will be added to my bill; even the towels. The towels they offer are so old and washed out that they no longer white, they're grey. The mattress is outdated and uncomfortable. Also, the carpet around the hotel is held down by a duck tape. Other than the view and a close vicinity of the tour company they have nothing to offer.
It was a very nice hotel with great staff, food, restaurant/bar and beautiful first floor. The elevator was slow and hot. The rooms were ok, but need some updating with more modern furniture, larger tv, and the air conditioning blew across the room onto the bed. Did not like that. Liked the mirror and lights in the bathroom.
The room price was highway robbery. We could hear the tv in the next room which was on until after midnight the first night. 2nd night the people on both sides of our room were cackling and talking until after 3 am!and smoking pot and cigarettes. The room and bathroom were clean, bed decent, view gorgeous but not worth $555 for 2 days. Alexandria Bay and this hotel are run down and disappointing. The area has so much potential…but. Head to Clayton…so much better!!!
Our room included a jacuzzi tub which was very relaxing to wind down a long day of walking. King bed was very roomy, and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony of our room and seeing Boldt Castle in the distance. The food and service at our dinner and breakfast in both restaurants at Riveredge was fantastic. Absolutely recommend staying here on any trip to the Thousand Islands.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Nice place. I did report to the desk that the parking lot light was very dim and many lights were out, making the parking lot feel unsafe.

Walking distance to activities, gorgeous views, staff was very helpful.
I didn’t care at all for the breakfast meal my husband and I had pancakes that were absolutely awful. The pool was freezing it really should be heated. They left a card on the bed about black flies we were okay with that we were warned. The little spiders were definately a draw back as they dropped down into our bed.
We didn’t stay. We asked for a refund. The common area wasn’t clean and then the cleanliness of the room was subpar. Lots of room for improvement in this facility.
