When we first arrived, our review would have focused on small things like the lack of a second trash can in the room, no outside seating and the road noise (obviously the hotel cannot control this). However, the walls are so thin we left in the middle of the night the second night due to the noise from the "relations" happening in the room we shared a wall with, after being woken up the first night from this and then returning to the hotel for a break in the middle of the day to find that the pool had been rented out to a private party (complete with booming music). We try to utilize small, independent hotels/motels because we love the character but we ended up resorting to a chain hotel for the rest of our vacation. To their credit, the management did respond to our concerns and refunded our unused nights. I would advise that if you are planning a stay at The Local, just be aware that it is on a major road through town, there are few amenities and no onsite staff and that the walls are paper thin- important if you are planning to be intimate or if you share a wall with someone who is. The management was very responsive to our concerns so we greatly appreciated that.
