3BR/2BA Lower Apartment in Historic District St. Augustine

Summary:
St. Augustine apartments in Downtown Historic District, walk to St. George Street
Premier Host 5-Star Ratings: This property and location has been loved by many and has continuously received 5-star reviews throughout the years. You just cannot beat this space and location. Located within walking distance (really is only a 7 minute walk to historical downtown shoppes and sites!!!), this beautiful place maintains a pristine level of quality and care with professionally excellent housecleaning and maintenance services. As my guest, I present you with a very clean stay and a highly maintained place so as to provide you comfort, ease, and a peace of mind. When I travel, I look for a place that is clean (if I didn’t say that enough already), not full of other’s personal belongings, is not full of cheap furniture and scant appliances to “just get by”, and feels CLEAN. I want appliances that are nice and up-to-date for happy function and flow. I want an alarm system that doesn’t have me keep up with a key and keeps my belongings safe. I want a place that not only looks nice but is constructed and designed with high quality in mind. I want to feel like I’m on a special vacation every time so that the money I spend is worth the stay. If you like these things, come on in and make yourself at home. I love to host, and you will feel special in my place.

LISTING NOTE: This 3BR/2BA apartment is the downstairs unit of the duplex. The upstairs unit (VRBO #1893781) has the same basic layout with a larger living room, a balcony with seating for 6, and a somewhat enhanced set of amenities. Both units can be rented together, so if you have a large group of up to 12 persons, see VRBO property #1906524 to make your reservation.

YOUR HOME-AWAY-FROM-HOME – 164 Cordova St, Unit 1 (Downstairs Apartment)

THE AREA: Located in a quiet residential area, the property is an easy 7-minute walk from the town square (Plaza de la Constitution) and 5 from the architecturally impressive Flagler College (formerly the posh Hotel Ponce de Leon built by Henry Flagler in the late-19th Century), just 4 minutes from the beautiful new sea wall along the Intracoastal Waterway near the city marina and only a minute from the serene setting of Lake Maria Sanchez (originally a creek which was dredged in order to fill in the wetlands on which Flagler's hotel would be constructed) and the historically significant Lincolnville neighborhood, and directly between the First Congregation Sons of Israel Jewish Synagogue (across the street to the east) and the Greater St Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church (on Washington Street, with their parking area bordering our property to the west).

THE HOUSE: The duplex was built in 2006, and both of the 3BR/2BA approximately 1500 sq ft apartments were almost totally renovated with the comfort and enjoyment of vacation rental Guests in mind. For many Guests, a main drawing point will be that you can just park your car and walk to most of the popular tourist attractions, bars and restaurants – or just take a casual stroll, jog, or bike ride through some of the most peaceful and beautiful residential areas of our wonderful city. Because parking can be a a challenge in this beautiful area, this duplex is in a very convenient and desirable location for guests.

THE PROPERTY: The first things you will likely notice about the property are the well-kept landscape and the red paver driveways on either side of the building. The driveways lead around the building to a large uncovered gravel parking area in the rear where each unit has dedicated space for up to 3 standard-size vehicles (18 ft max). The outside sitting area for this unit is on the front porch (where the entrances to both units are located) and has a small table with two chairs and two rocking chairs for the sole use of our downstairs Guests. The east-facing porch is perfectly suited for enjoying your coffee in the morning sun or evening beverage in the shade, and generally watching the world and the occasional horse-drawn carriage go by on Cordova Street.

THE LIVING ROOM: Accessed through the porch entryway, the living room looks out onto the quiet residential street through two large east- and north-facing windows. Like most of the rest of the apartment, the living room has new flooring, and offers two comfortable over-stuffed chairs, a large leather couch, and additional seating with Ottomans (for a total of 8 spaces), making it a perfect place for planning the day's activities, watching a movie, or relaxing with a book.

THE KITCHEN & DINING AREA: I am confident that my Guests (especially those who love to cook and eat) will enjoy the brand new kitchen where two can easily work side-by-side. The new cabinets and granite counter-top, the new French-door cabinet-depth frig and new (and very quiet) Bosch dishwasher, and the stainless-steel stove and microwave, as well as other counter-top appliances and all the necessary pots and pans are sure to please the most demanding cooks. The adjacent dining area with seating for 6 is the best place to enjoy your breakfast as you and the members of your group bask in the morning Florida sunshine flowing through the large east- and south-facing windows. And although there are many fun, tasty, and romantic places to eat in St Augustine, most of our Guests will appreciate the flexibility of enjoying a fine or family-style meal in your home-away-from-home.

THE BEDROOMS, BATHROOMS & LAUNDRY: All three bedrooms are quite large and comfortable, from the Master (12 ft x 14 ft) with a King bed and en-suite bathroom, to the Guest bedroom (with a Queen bed and direct access to the Guest Bathroom) and 3rd Bedroom (with two Twins and access to the Guest Bathroom through the hallway) -- each 12 ft x 13 ft. All bedrooms have new flooring and ample space for clothing and luggage, but perhaps the best part is that they overlook the parking area to the back of the building which is almost totally shielded from the neighboring property by a line of tall trees and other foliage, along with a 6 ft shadow-box wood fence with knee-wall. This makes for an excellent privacy barrier and gives the feeling of living in a downtown enclave. Both bathrooms include new vanities and toilets and large showers, and the laundry room is outfitted with a washer & dryer.

ENTERTAINMENT AND CONNECTIVITY: The apartment is served by cable TV (with 200+ channels), high-speed Internet (up to 50 Mbps) with WiFi, and an Internet-based phone system.
Air-conditioned accommodations at this apartment offer DVD players and coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to patios. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and separate dining areas. Bathrooms include showers and hair dryers.

The Space:
You'll have the entire apartment (lower unit) to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

The Neighborhood:
Located in St. Augustine, this apartment is in the city center. St. George Street and Aviles Street are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore St. Augustine Beach and Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Bayfront Carpet Golf and St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including birdwatching, motor boating, and winery tours.

The property was very well situated for exploring historic St. Augustine. If you enjoy walking you can easily walk to the north end (the old city gates) and to the fort. Beyond that, such as the Fountain of Youth and the light house you will probably want to drive. After any driving around it is great to be able to return to the unit and its private parking. Dinner was never more than a 15 minute walk away and the choices too many. The unit is clean and Marie is an excellent host, checking with us a couple of times to make sure all is good. “We would return again” sums it all up.

Each year, my mom and her five daughters take a trip. This year was Saint Augustine. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect location for the six of us. Our host was easy to communicate with and responsive. The home is well appointed with everything we needed. The location is beyond convenient! I would highly recommend this property.

Amazing Property and perfect location
This property was everything we hoped it would be. The location is fabulous. We stayed over Christmas and were able to walk everywhere, in fact we did not need to drive even once. All of the shops, bars, restaurants museums, and even the fort was within walking distance. The house was amazing. This was the cleanest property we have ever stayed in. It had every thing we needed and more. The hosts were awesome, They were very easy to get a hold of, and did us a huge favor! We can’t thank them enough for giving our family a wonderful Christmas this year. we definitely would come back

A lovely place to enjoy St. Augustine
We traveled to St. Augustine from Savannah, GA, for a wedding. We arrived 2 hours early, so Marie allowed us an early checking without hesitation. The location is great with all attractions being within walking distance. The house was immaculate and they thought to provide everything from soaps/shampoos to beach chairs and umbrellas. Kitchen had everything we needed and then some. Beds were comfortable and the entire place was decorated nicely. A great place to stay and we recommend it for anyone's visit to St. Augustine.
