Lovely hotel and breakfast was great, lots of choice. The room was cosy and very clean. I will definitely stay again. We were visiting relatives so didn’t spend time in the bar area bug it looked very inviting. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Comfortable and clean room with a good breakfast and an easy stroll into Spalding . The only issue we found was it is on a busy road and you can hear the constant traffic.

We had a lovely visit to Spalding and Cley Hall was so welcoming. We will definitely be coming to stay again. My father lives near so it is also a perfect location for our visit. Thank you so much.

I booked a classic double for one person. On arrival the room faced the main road, the supplementary double glazing was missing on one window which i was later told should not be taken out as that window opened to wide fir safety. Another panel was not in the grooves so ineffective allowing noise in. The nightporter/handiman tried to rectify but couldnt, therefore this room had obviously not been checked and was not fit for purpose, in that traffic noise would not allow a good nights sleep. The only other room available was an executive double for which i had to pay a further £57.45 for the night, this room was quiet at the back but still had minor issues. On the whole the front of the hotel and rear garden are shabby, could do with a good tidy up, the area itself is not appealing. I had read the reviews before booking but im afraid i did not share the same experience.

One room smelt of damp and it could be seen around the window, toilet seat was loose, in the other room no handbasin plug and the pull cord to the bathroom was broken and not easy to reach. In both rooms the carpet was stained. On a positive noth the breakfast had lots of choice and the staff were helpful

Short break in Spalding
We spent 2 nights in Spalding for the flower parade. The Cley Hall hotel is an old building, centrally located next to the river but with a busy road between the hotel and the river. We had been allocated a front room, facing the road and afternoon sun. This would have been very hot and noisy. Helpful staff changed us to a second floor garden view room at check in, which was much better. I think this room had not been used for a while so there were a few issues. The drains in the bathroom were very smelly; bedside lights and towels were not there. No phone so an expedition to reception needed. Staff very helpful once problems reported. Breakfast was ok, though not really 4 star... The hotel was pleasant but expensive for what it was.

Property is in a small town so little bit limited for the restaurants options. Property has nice period features and good size executive rooms. Staff was very nice and breakfast lovely fresh. There is also lovely garden at the back of the property for an evening drink in the warmer weather.

Excellent value for money!
It is a lovely old building and the staff are genuinely interested in why you are there, where have you travelled from and anything they can help you with, we felt very relaxed speaking to them. Our room overlooked the beautiful gardens. Room overall catered to our needs, bed was excellent, super nights sleep! Shower area looking tired but adequate.

Old world charm
We had an excellent 3 night stay. The building is old, quaint, and full of history. The staff were so helpful. Hanna, a staff member was particularly so. But all the staff were delightful, and attentive. The breakfast was generous and excellent quality. There is no food severed at weekends. But we were given a list of places to eat out and local takeaways. The Hotel provided plates and cutlery and napkins, and could drink our own alcohol in the lounge after the bar had shut. So we received lots of support from the staff to make sure we were still taken care of. We will definitely return, as we have friends in that area.

A superb Stay.
A superb hotel, beautiful decor, lovely garden and a raised outside seating area. Excellent staff, friendly, helpful and very efficient. The rooms are of a high standard with tv and tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely comfortable bed and super comfortable pillows. We enjoyed a scenic five minute walk along the riverside, to get to the town centre. Ample parking spaces too. The lounge area is also, very inviting and beautifully decorated and our stay was topped off with a delicious breakfast in the morning, a great selection of fruits, cereals, croissants etcetera followed by a cooked full English breakfast. We will definitely stay at Cley Hall Hotel again and highly recommend it.
