We booked this property very last minute whilst stranded nearby and we are so glad we did. As soon as we walked in the staff made us feel at home. The lady at the reception, Tilly, went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect stay. We had forgotten some essentials with it being an unexpected booking and Tilly brought us what we needed from home the very next morning. It was so kind and thoughtful. We enjoyed time in the garden and the location was fantastic. Very close to the forest and also to Peppa Pig World for those with young children. We will be back!

Lovely and relaxing, traditional hotel in the fore
It was a lovely hotel with pleasant staff although perhaps a bit understaffed for the size of the hotel. The food was overpriced thouhgh, a salmon ceasar salad was £22! And it wasn't a huge portion either. I would book again as it was a lovely quiet spot and great for people with dogs. The room was lovely, a bit tired in deco and I had the most amazing patterned toilet! Comfortable bed though and a corner room with two opening windows was brilliant for a warm evening.
Rooms poor, need a lick of paint! Bathroom was great. Smallest TV going! Had evening meal there, average at best, small portions and expensive. Didn't have breakfast as evening meal was so poor. Friendly staff though, shame property let them down and the food.
Lovely staff catered for me and my young daughter, nice and safe and quiet and a big room. Good food and easy parking, looked to have nice grounds also.
Beautiful old mansion converted into a hotel. Amazing grounds, acres and acres of forest to wander about

Pre Cruise Stay.
We arrived after an 8 hour drive from Scotland to be asked if we received the message about the power cut on the possible all day Saturday, due this issue if we wanted to ensure of a hot shower and cooked breakfast to be ready before 8am, not ideal start to the holiday but other than this I have no complaints really, 2nd stay here and food was good, rooms comfy, staff friendly and polite.
Fantastic stay.
Friendly staff, comfortable room, didn't skimp on tea and coffee provisions.
Delicious dinner and breakfast.
Lovely walk into the forest through the hotel garden
Staff responded quickly to any of my needs.
I wouldn't usually go back to a hotel I've been to before but would 100% stay here again.
Have stayed here twice now and we really like this hotel. The staff are excellent - friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Each time we’ve stayed in a deluxe double - the room is generously proportioned and well equipped. The breakfast is excellent - a very good selection to choose from and the hot items are cooked to order which we like. Location is excellent - right on the edge of the New Forest, and we were delighted to see the horses snuffling around the grass in the overflow car park one evening! The area is great for walks and lots of lovely places are within easy reach. We’ve tended to do the short drive into Lyndhurst for our evening meal where there are a host of nice restaurants but like the convenience of knowing the hotel does food too if we didn’t want to go out. For reference, the property is old, and it’s in the country, so it’s not perfect (some bits could do with a bit of a dust/refresh). That doesn’t bother us as evidenced by the fact we’re about to make another booking and the positives ultimately win out but thought it best to make this clear.
I stayed at the hotel recently with my husband baby and dog and we had a lovely stay. The hotel and room were clean and comfortable. Surroundings area was beautiful and relaxing. The staff were helpful and friendly especially the lady that served us brunch after we missed breakfast. The food also was really good standard so we'll definitely stay here again in the future next time I'm visiting family
Although I booked via a booking system i was disappointed that they never replied as to weather they have a lift or my request for ground floor room. My mum had a hell of a problem getting up and down srairs

Lovely place but checked out quickly as i was on the way somewhere and running behind with children becoming inpatient. Didnt notice until the evening that i had paid for 2 extra breakfasts costing £30 in total. If staying make sure you check your bill
