A decent stay
Check in was easy. The washer flooded a section of the first floor on our second night. Maintenance was very quick to respond. House could have been cleaner. The down stairs wasn’t vacuumed and had dirt on carpets, crumbs in cabinets, and dishes were all wet in cabinets. Grill worked well, house had many fans available to help with the summer heat.

Dirty place
The cleanliness of the house was non acceptable! The bath towels were dirty and we have a serious doubt about the change of the bed linen before our arrival. Moreover there is a lack of lights in the house : a single one for the entire living room. Just two stoves out of 4 were working. We noticed as well the poor quality of the beds. Finally we couldn’t use the terrace which was dirty and we didn’t even find a broom to clean it.

Not worth it
There were several substandard housekeeping items. The biggest of which was probably the fact that no one had taken out the trash (bear proof canister) between visitors. All in all the place was as described, but highly overpriced in my opinion.

There were spider webs on top of the shower in the up stairs bathroom. I’m terrified by spiders…also the pillows weren’t comfortable at all. I kept getting itchy when I laid down on the bed. those are my only complaint’s

Decent house, about 10 min drive to the lake. Biggest complaint is WiFi - you have 8 people in a house with the worst, slowest WiFi router I’ve even experienced. REALLY needs to be upgraded or fixed, using hotspots and my phone plan for the kids all week was a royal PIA.

Good for summer vacation
Quick drive to the water and restaurants. Neighborhood was friendly and quiet, within walking distance to trails. Comfortably slept eight people and had lots of kitchen appliances. Only things that could improve is if street parking was allowed, if there was AC, and if dogs were allowed.

Nice stay
Nice cozy but spacious house. It was clean and Well stocked with necessities. Wood is supplied for the wood burner but logs were large and unusable because they were so big, so bring a splitter or plan on buying boxes of wood at the local grocery store. We would definitely stay again.

Fun vacation
We had 4 adults and 3 kids under the age of 8. The house was a tad to small with way to much uncomfortable furniture for the size of the living room and kitchen. It was hard to even walk around without bumping into the furniture. The owners need to upgrade the beds from double to a Queen in the master. Had it only been my family of 3 people it would of been fine. The house is very dark at night without proper lamps especially in the living room and kitchen. The first night we arrived from Hawaii we were tired and needed showers but sadly there was no hot water and a water leak in the bathroom. I emailed the manager and they came out the very next day and fixed everything. We were very impressed by them. The house was spotless clean and well stocked. We came up to snowboard at Heavenly and there is no mudroom and with so much furniture there was no place to put our boards and skis so we had to leave our gear in the car. A coat rack would be nice. Overall the house is worth renting if you have a maximum of 4 people. The big windows are fabulous.

Unsafe
The Cabin was clean and cozy great for a family with kids. The reason I’m not giving it 5 starts is because there were mutliple rails that were loose and the kids could have fallen right through them from the second floor. I’m pretty sure they are aware of this issue because some had glue like they have tried. Very disappointed with the safety of this cabin.

comfortable yet complicated
The accommodations here were very good: enough towels, working appliances, and comfortable furniture. The parking, however, was a pain in the neck and pocketbook. The parking ordinance now in effect in this area was rather limiting/inconvenient! This home sells as sleeping 10 people and is located pretty far from the many entertainment options in the area, if that many people are planning to stay, then there needs to be enough space for them to park their vehicles. I am a reasonable person and don't expect the community to allow 10 vehicles, but 2?! While my car fits 5 people seated, it does not allow space for those people's luggage at the same time. I am certain this would be the same situation for many visitors. While I respect the community's need to have some sense of normalcy on a day to day basis, I as a renter already pay a lot of money for basic accommodations and then add in the additional monies I spend in town during the visit now I have to pay to park my car somewhere 10 minutes away in a non-secure location?? I WILL DEFINITELY plan to visit other locales with similar entertainment/activity offerings BEFORE I plan another visit to this area. If the objective was to dissuade people and their monies from visiting the area then this parking ordinance did it's job.

Great space for 8 people, good location, very cozy
Highly recommend this house. Two rooms with double beds and an upstairs room with three twins and a double. Open concept downstairs was great for our party of 8. Woke up to a fresh layer of snow and the wall to ceiling windows let us all enjoy the scenery. The only things I’d recommend to the owners is adding more silverware (only 7 forks) and getting caster cups for the furniture so the couch doesn’t slide when you sit down. A bigger couch would be nice too but that’s just knit picking.

Charming
This home is charming to look at with beautiful windows and pretty decor. If you are actually staying here it isn't super comfortable. There are no coffee tables and the lighting is limited in the both kitchen and family room. The (beautiful) couch is pretty uncomfortable and lumpy. The downstairs bedroom would benefit greatly from some blackout curtains to block the street light out front. If you plan on cooking, bring spices as the only ones when we visited were salt and pepper. Some of the positives, there is a great BBQ and a very nice deck. It is in a nice, quiet neighborhood and for my family of mountain bikers and hikers was in a great location. I think this cabin has potential, it just isn't quite there yet.

Dirty A Frame
The house would have been okay if the housekeeper had done her job prior to our visit. The bathrooms were clean (but little else). The kitchen counter was dirty with grease and crumbs. The living area floor had sand all over it. One of the bedrooms had chip crumbs all over the floor. One of the upstairs beds had sand in the sheets and hair on the pillow (so the sheets had not been cleaned). There are a lot of spiders and cobwebs (like it gets little use). I could only get two of the BBQ burners to light. The kitchen was well stocked. There was no DVD player. One of the TV remotes needed new batteries. The house has no view, but it is close to most Tahoe main roads.

Will Rent Enchanting Alpine Chalet again.
I was extremely pleased with this property. This is the first time I rent a house when going to Lake Tahoe, and I would definitely do it again. This house was a little small, but that is not a complaint. For the time we were there, it was perfect. I do have to say, BEWARE of bears!! A bear was on the property, knocked over garbage cans & dragged garbage in front yard and into front grassy area. We personally used a can that indicated was "bear proof" vs. a can next to it that just had an "Ace Brand" sticker on it, which I'm assuming previous renters used, because that is the one the bear got into. Unfortunately, for us.....we were stuck cleaning up someone else's garbage since they didn't use what I would assume was the correct garbage can. Most houses around this one have the locked boxes for garbage, which might be a good investment for this property. And just in case anyone is thinking, those were raccoons that knocked them over.....NOPE, my husband & I watched the bear bring a bag from the porch into the front yard, and them watched as he moved across the street because the outside light (which is censored) turned on and made him a little mad. My heart was literally beating out of my chest.....can you tell I'm more of a city girl? LOL
