** PLEASE NOTE - I no longer have access to a laundry service that is able to take care of providing clean towels and linens. Please understand that I would like to provide this service, but I am unable to. Thus, you’ll need to plan on bringing your own. I do apologize for this.

*** Please read this entire description before booking, and feel free to ask me any questions you might have! ***

I have had some recent complaints regarding a few items so please read the following info prior to booking. Your booking this cabin acknowledges that you have read and understand the information contained in this ad.

This RUSTIC cabin is located in a wooded and grassy area. There are bugs and there are spiders and there are other furry critters in the area. The cabin is typically cleaned on a Monday after folks check out. The cleaning service has an hour round trip travel time, so it is likely it won’t be “freshened up” immediately prior to your arrival if you come later in the week. Please expect there to be a sign of activity of these bugs and spiders and other pests in this natural wooded area.

The lawn service might not always be able to mow or trim weeds directly prior to your arrival. Many factors such as rain, wooded property access, and land topology play into this. This is not a metropolitan or town location. If you are expecting that, understand you might be disappointed and won’t receive a refund.

Sometimes, a window might fail to lock. However, all main entry doors are secure and have locks on them. We have never had a security incident since we began cabin rentals in 2012. I have had many, many very happy customers. Many folks come back to each of my locations each and every season. However, a few have not been happy due to the items listed above. Please be sure you understand the above information before choosing to stay here.

This simple cottage is located on 21 scenic acres to allow hiking, campfires, grilling out, or taking a nice soak in the relaxing hot tub! It is located in South Bloomingville, OH, a mere 4 miles from Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Conkle's Hollow, and many other local attractions.

Plates, bowls, pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, toaster oven, and trash bags are included.

The cabin has central air conditioning, an electric central furnace heater, ceiling fans, wood burner, leather couch and recliner, porch swing, and a picnic table out back! It has beds to sleep 7 (please see below for a description of the bedding arrangement), has satellite TV in the living room, a full kitchen with range, refrigerator, and microwave. Outside, there is a propane grill on the front porch. There is also ample space for a nice campfire to roast hot dogs and make S'Mores! Jim-Bo's bar and grill is right next door within walking distance if you so desire!

Bedding arrangement: There are a total of 5 mattresses on which to sleep: 1 queen size bed in the bedroom (sleeps 2), 2 twin bunkbeds in one corner of the greatroom (sleeps 2), 1 twin bed in the opposing greatroom corner (sleeps 1), pullout full size couch (sleeps 2) {Entire cabin sleeps 7}

Please note: I have very good feedback and I pride myself in trying to make sure folks enjoy their time here. I will do my best to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. In order to achieve that, I want to make sure you are aware of a few items:

The low water pressure issue was FIXED! I was able to install a booster pump in the cabin, so no more issues with low water pressure! Thanks to all those who left reviews to make me aware of it. The issue is finally behind us!!!!

The cottage is in a rural setting. It is located in the middle of a wooded area, where it is moist and the cabin itself sometimes gets little sun. Therefore the cabin can at times be slightly damp upon arrival, but it does have full central air conditioning (as well as an electric furnace) for your use when you are there.

The cabin walls are concrete block but covered on the inside and outside to have a rustic wooden feel.

As shown in the images, the back yard / fire pit area does not have a fence or barrier around its perimeter. There is not a "cliff" style dropoff here, but as in most places in hocking hills, there is a slope off the back yard area and downhill side of the cabin. Please be aware of this if you are planning on bringing young children to be present in the back yard area.

At times the satellite TV signal might be weak, or an item within the cabin might not be functional. Items such as these will be addressed ASAP by the property managers, and I will always do my best to make sure you are notified prior to booking.

The bathroom has been updated to accommodate those who are in a wheelchair or have mobility challenges (but these additions are not yet reflected in the images). Two grab bars have been installed in the shower stall. Two flip-down grab bars and a rear grab handle have been installed for the toilet area. To use the flip-down bars, simply lift up on the bars and allow them to slowly drop into position, and then push the bar toward the wall to lock it in place. To raise the bar, pull it away from the wall, raise it, and then allow it to drop into position for storage.

Finally, my property is not a rustic log cabin with all of the finished touches of one. However, you will see that my nightly price is one of the least expensive in the Hocking Hills region. I am very close to the caves. I do not charge for additional people OR pets. I do hope you enjoy your stay!

Don't delay! Get out to the Hocking Hills!

PLEASE NOTE - this property is located in a rural setting with open grassy areas and woods nearby. We do our best to keep pesky rodents away but at times there could be a rodent that was just caught in a trap. We have tried poison, traps, and using nothing at all; we have landed on continuing to use mousetraps. Poison causes them to die in the most inopportune places and having no traps at all just leads to larger issues. If you happen to find a mouse in a trap we apologize - we truly are doing the best to can to make the pests disappear. Just please be prepared to place all food in sealable containers or in the refrigerator so you don’t attract them even more!

In addition to small furry pests, an occasional wood roach might be wandering around a cabin. I assure you these are NOT a cock roach. Please google “wood roach”. They feed on moist damp wood. They don’t really want to be inside but they might have been carried in on firewood or wandered in looking for a mate. They don’t eat human food and they don’t want to be inside. If you find one, please either dispose of it or simply throw it outside. Thanks for your patience as you venture in to the rural wooded areas of Hocking Hills!
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cottage, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Pamper yourself with onsite massages or enjoy recreation amenities such as a spa tub.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Perfect, simple, no frills, everything we needed
We didn't want a super fancy cabin because we had a gaggle of kids. This cabin is simple, no frills, but everything we needed. Kids loved the hot tub, they were able to fall asleep watching Halloween movies from their bunk beds, plenty of comfy seating. Not a lot of counter space for cooking but we made do. It was very helpful to be so near to a lot of the hiking trails, and local food (Jimbo's and Papa Dino's were great). Nice spot to build a fire and make s'mores. The driveway is rather steep, make sure either your vehicle is equipped, or YOU are equipped for a slight uphill climb. We also used the hiking trail off the driveway, kept the kids busy. All in all, it was great, we would use this place again!

Perfect for visiting the Hocking hills area
This cabin is perfect for visiting the Hocking hills area, it's very close to old mans cave and the visitor center. Also Jimbo's beer and burgers is one min down the road for a great burger and other bar food. Wifi and cable work great , cabin stays cool , nice fire pit outback and a picnic table. Plenty of sleeping spaces and a hot tub out front.Basically has everything you would need for a decent price.

The place is in a great spot. My only complaint was the place wasnt clean and smelled like mildew. The bathroom had a utility closet and stag water was in there. I was bummed to find out the patio furniture was busted and your unable to sit.

Enjoyable
Cabin was close to perfect for what we needed. It needs a good cleaning and some of the light switches were not in convenient locations and a door on the bedroom would have been nice, but it fit our family needs well. Location was pretty central to all the hiking we planned and the hot tub was nice after word. Counter space is a bit small and a stackable washer dryer would be a nice upgrade. Over all a very good experience though. We would definitely return for another visit.

Perfect getaway
Property was great for my family of 4 ! It was so easy to get to the cabin thanks to the welcome email! Very well explained! I also love the clarity of the disclaimer the owner wrote about the property below the pictures, thanks to the clarity we packed accordingly and our stay was absolutely magical! It snowed a little and looking at the snow fall while in the hot tub was truly beautiful! We loved it! My kids asked if we can live here forever! Thank you for accepting our reservation and we are in love with your cabin!

Rustic cabin
This cabin is exactly what we were looking for! It was very clean and we had an amazing time, will definitely be staying again! The drive up the driveway was steep, but there was enough room for me to turn a truck around on top of the hill. The location was right down the road from the caves and small town amenities. Make sure to read the description, we didn’t pack our own linens and towels, but the property manager was more than catering and even offered a refund for the price of the sheets and towels. It was our fault for not completely reading so we declined the generous offer and stopped at the Walmart in town. Definitely recommend this cabin for anyone wanting to get away in hocking hills!

Perfect Getaway
The cabin was exactly as described. Brick rustic building. One bedroom with a queen, bunk bed and twin in the main area of the cabin and a pull out couch. This is a no frills cabin. But just what we wanted and needed to escape for the weekend. Reminded me of my family hunting cabin in Florida or one would describe as a man cabin. Could really use a deep clean though. Dust and spiderwebs on the fans in closets windows and above the cabinets have definitely been there for a while. Driveway was a challenge but manageable. I drive an AWD SUV and it did just fine and it was raining, I would not have made it with snow on the ground and if I would have drove the RAM 2500 turning around at the top could have been a tight challenge but doable. Owner texted property details and needed to know information, answered all questions promptly. We all enjoyed our time there, kids and dogs had a good time hiking to the top of the hill. we are simple folks and was just happy to unplug and escape.

Pleasant stay
The cabin was in a very good location. We where right by all the hicking trails maybe 20 minutes to get to them. The cabin itself was alittle rustic and very cute. The celings and night stands could use dusted alittle better, but we still loved our stay. As for the driveway its pretty bumpy getting up but not bad in a truck, theres just not much room to turn around once you get up there.

Very nice owner
The house itself was a little dark and dingy. But it was fine for being in the woods on a hiking weekend. The hot tub wasn't keeping heat because it was on the economy setting. But the owner quickly responded and told me how to set it to standard. Our dog became I'll and had to go to the doggie ER and the owner was nice enough to let us stay a few extra hours so she could rest before driving our 7 hour drive home! Thank you!!

Overall had a nice stay
The drive way would have been a challenge if we didn't have a truck. So keep that in mind if you plan to stay or you will have to walk from the bottom. It's a cabin in the woods.. with that comes signs of creatures, which is to be expected. There was mice droppings in the drawers and we did see some insects. Neither was much of an issue, just wash your dishes prior to using if you use the items that are furnished. The bathroom could have been cleaner.. specifically the shower and toilet. I had to clean both before I was comfortable using. It was cold so we didn't use the back yard or fire pit. There is a lot of "old" items laying around that would make the area more visually appealing if was cleaned up. The hot tub was nice and worked as it should. Plan to bring your own pillows... the ones there should probably be burned and the mattress liners could be bleached or replaced.

Could have been cleaner
My thoughts are the same as Wendy G's post in July 2022. Could have been cleaner, the outside needed dire attention and it was dim inside. The Dish was ok. My husband cleaned the leaves off and trimmed the branches around it, which made it a little better, but there is Netflix. Did not use the hot tub. Wendy mentioned the shower head being broken. The bracket was still broken in September. My husband taped the shower head to the broken bracket so it was durable. I did call the property manager, who was very nice and appreciated the call, to report it. No problem with Jimbo's noise, but it was last week in September. We did have a fire and could hear someone comment from the parking lot what a nice fire it was. Sound does travel in a valley and every night we did have a nice fire. The outside chairs are pretty beat up and no cushions, but we brought our own lawn chairs. Wood can be bought at many places turning left out of the driveway and down the road. We did buy Victor mouse traps and caught the one I saw, but not unusual for a wooded area. We set another trap and caught nothing. We brought our own cooking skillets and cooking utensils, which I was glad we did. There were no large storage bowls for our salad so we bought two and left them there for the next people. Also bought and left a notebook and pen for your shopping list. The water is well water, which I would think is common in that area, but never entered my mind, nor did I see anything mentioning it. So we bought a gallon of water for coffee. My cousin and wife stayed at the KOA campground and it was well water too. The area is close to the tourist spots, as well as Logan that has the Walmart and restaurants. We did Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Conklin Hallow, the Stone House (my favorite), Hocking Hills Winery and John Glenn Astronomy Park. Two tour guides were there at the time and were so interesting and passionate about the park. We rented a Pontoon boat in Logan for my husband to fish. The driveway is very steep, but the host makes that perfectly clear. I don't think a car would have much luck. In my opinion this is not a place for little children. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and loved Hocking Hills.
