The cottage was clean and comfortable with lovely views. Lovely walks are right on the doorstep along the River Wharfe which was perfect for our dogs. We enjoyed eating at both The Old School Tea Rooms and The Clarendon Hotel. Both excellent!! Really just had a lovely few days and would definitely recommend.

Great property, amazing location.
Cozy, comfortable, cute and convenient! Some of the best trails and pubs in all the Dales right outside the door. The hike up the Hebden Gill to the moor was a highlight. The cake, crisps and wine were a nice touch. Book a table at the Clarendon and the Craven Arms in Appletreewick. Walk Dales Way over the suspension bridge to Burnsall. And hike Pen y Gent if you can!

Wonderful Stay!
The location and the cottage were idyllic with a cute babbling brook running along side the road. So many scenic walks to do from the cottage and along the River Wharfe, including a wonderful waterfall trail at Ingleton, a bit further away. Lovely local pubs and enjoyed The Old School Tea Rooms 5 minutes away.Sue was very helpful in the booking process and answered all our queries before we went.

Great cottage for country walks
Lovely cottage in a beautiful, quiet location. Stayed for a week with our smallish dog. Cottage is very clean, well equipped and full of charm. Double bed was very comfortable. Everything works as it should, including TV, wifi and mobile signal. The owners have put much thought into the property including a welcome pack for guests. Front patio gets the sun for most of the day (in June) and has a pretty little garden. Well, you know when you're out walking and come across a pretty row of stone cottages and wonder what it'd be like to stay in one - well, now you can!!! As a bonus there are lots of great walks directly from the front door. Nature is on the doorstep and it's a paradise for birds and wildlife. We saw a barn owl hunting at dusk around the cottage on a couple of evenings. Parking no problem in Main Street a couple of mins walk away. Had a very happy week there.

A cosy cottage situated at the end of a lane. Great for hiking and exploring the area. Very welcoming and helpful host. All necessary equipment there. As it is a genuine cottage space might be an issue for some. Just look at the pictures. Ideal for lovers of the Dales.

Beautiful in every way
The cottage is well adapted. Warm, cosy and was a pleasure to stay in during some horrendous weather. The facilities are exactly as described and expected. The location is great for exploring. We found ourselves wondering up above the cottage in the hills and found it to be breathtaking, especially when the tops where white with a little snow. Local area has what you need. The pub was inviting and keep their beer very well. A perfect little hideaway in the Dales.

Beautiful cottage
We had a lovely 2-week stay at Ghyll Croft. The house was spotless and Sue and Martin had gone above and beyond to ensure that everything was clean and safe with regard to COVID, without compromising on comfort. The cottage is well-placed for lots of lovely walks, and Grassington is just a short drive (or a long walk!) away. We were unlucky with the weather during our stay, but the clever remote-controlled gas fire made sure that we were always warm in the cottage! Overall, we had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

Perfect
Beautiful, cosy, quiet and spotlessly clean cottage. Equipped with everything you could possible need. Excellent communications from Sue. Folders full of information and recommended walks and maps. Well tended front patio garden - buddleia covered in butterflies in August. Lots of great but fairly easy walks from the doorstep - up to Mossy Moor Reservoir and the old mine workings, along the River Wharfe to Burnsall (nice "Riverside Café" by the car park), Grassington and Linton Falls. In the village the Old School House Café in Main Street is an essential visit - we had pre walk breakfast and afternoon tea a number of times. Clarendon Hotel/Pub just around the corner for a friendly welcome, evening beer and meal. We will look forward to returning.

A lovely, spacious cottage in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
We really enjoyed our stay at Ghyllcroft Cottage. It is a lovely, charming cottage which had everything we needed for a 3 night stay - We would have loved to have stayed longer. We also enjoyed the outside space, which as well as being private, it is a great space to watch the outdoor world go by - it is also a wonderful suntrap! The location of the cottage is second to none with walks in every direction straight from the door, and a pub, restaurant and cafe around the corner. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a break/holiday in this lovely location. Thanks to Sue and Martin for the great communication, and an unexpected but much appreciated welcome pack of snacks and wine. We hope to return again in the future!

beautiful cottage in a beautiful location
We had a great stay in this beautiful cottage. The location couldnt be more perfect. The little village of Hebden has stolen a piece of our hearts. The cottage has an instant homely feeling to it. As soon as we walked in, we felt at home.Sue & Martin really have thought of everything. from all of the kitchen items, to the two boxes of walks and activities. It has to be the most well equipped cottage we have stayed in. The lovely welcome pack was another personal touch and a great gesture. The location of this cottage makes it the ideal base for exploring the yorkshire dales...and then stopping off for a lovely slice of cake in the Old School Tea Room, located within the village. We have already begun plans to return (more than once) next year.

Lovely, well-equipped cottage
We had a great stay in Sue and Martin’s cottage. Communication before our arrival was excellent, and the welcome.basket of tea, coffee, and treats was a thoughtful touch. The cottage is cosy and comfortable, in a beautiful location, and has every amenity you might need or want, from torches and umbrellas to DVDs, maps, and even an iPod player. Hebden is a fantastic village to be based in, not least because the pub serves the best food in the Dales and the tearoom is spectacularly good, too. I’d recommend this cottage wholeheartedly as a real home from home in a wonderful Dales location.

comfortable and well equipped cottage
The cottage as well as being comfortable and well equipped is in a great location to tour the dales. We made good use of the footpaths which led up to the moors straight from the front door and those along the river to Grassington and Burnsall . The pub in the village is dog friendly and the food is very good. A nice touch was the welcome basket left by the Sue and Martin and the information file for both the appliances in the cottage and about local walks and tourist information is the best we have ever come across in all our years of holidays in self catering cottages. This definitely a property we would not hesitate to recommend to any person and will be one that we are very likely to visit again. Peter and Pauline Gilmore Gateshead Tyneside

Delightful cottage in a beautiful location. Well equipped and clean. Lovely walks all around the village. Local pub very nice - good food especially Sunday roast. Hebden itself is very pretty and several villages within walking distance such as Burnsall - lovely river walk of about 2 miles. Would recommend property.
