Nice place to stay here if visiting Shrewsbury area. Food good at Breakfast, although became nervous when waitress was leaning across you to serve orange juice, this could have been avoided with small decanted bottles put on tables to use if required. Breakfast not a relaxing experience when the waitress who was very friendly was rushing around puffing and panting as she passed very close to our table repeatedly as we were next to the kitchen entrance.
Would stay there again when epidemic is over, as would like to try restaurant menu!
Fabulous spot! Lovely staff, delicious food and wine, great room! A little noisy with road traffic from the A5 at night, but still worth a trip here. Our shower spurted all over the floor which was annoying... having said that we’d still return which says a lot.
We had a super weekend, very comfortable, beautifully kept and superb food. Staff and management were very friendly and obviously loved their 'Modern Coaching Inn'
Whilst we didn't have any serious complaints, I would suggest when serving a delightful cheese board, a very hot carrot chutney is not a good accompaniment since all the cheeses tasted the same after a blast of chilli!
Polite friendly staff . Top notch service. The bedroom was very cosy . Our room was right beside the stairs so it was noisy with folk coming and going . The room said there was Netflix but we couldn't find it on the tv and if it was there ,it was certainly hard to locate 🤔. Great power shower. Comfy bed. Lovely atmosphere .The food and drink was fantastic 🤗 5 stars ✨ .
Overall it was a great visit and would definitely recommend . Thanks 🙂

Quite with pleasant staff. Good food choice and quality
A really excellent small country hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast is second to none and the dinner menu is excellent, but the cherry on the cake (excuse the pun) is the Sunday lunch three courses for a very reasonable price. We had a fantastic three day weekend break at this hotel.
THANK YOU
A lovely gastro pub with an amazing breakfast and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our evening meal as well.
As an old property be careful not to bump your head! There was a step from the bedroom to the bathroom.
Our only disappointment was that the mattresses were not very comfortable.
Excellent country accommodation in a beautiful location, great location for access to Shrewsbury and surrounding areas.
Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped.
Food both at breakfast and if you wish to eat in the evening is fantastic.
The staff are very attentive, friendly and welcoming, we will definitely return again.
Comfortable and well appointed rooms. Nice decorative theme. Was disappointed to find at breakfast that they had run out of orange juice ?? - surely a staple product for any pub, especially for one servicing breakfast ???. Breakfast stated on menu that scrambled egg on white or brown toast but arrived with no toast so got cold whilst cooking own toast. What started as efficient service during evening meal seemed to drop off off and we were kept waiting for desert menu and had to remind staff that we were still waiting to see and order a desert.
Located about 7 miles from Shrewsbury, this is the perfect idyllic escape to the English countryside. Quiet and picturesque, the rooms are comfortable, the free car park convenient, and the staff is outstanding! Strolling the pleasant countryside in any direction is relaxing and tranquil. The food was wonderful!
Hotel is in a quiet location not far from Shrewsbury, great walks and fantastic food in the pub side of the hotel, first rate service and breakfast was superb.

Very helpful friendly staff.
Immaculately clean.
Room was booked as a family room but was a little small as instead of a single bed and king size bed as advertised we had a king bed and just a very hard camp bed.
