The hotel car park at weekends, 1000 to 1600, is not easy to find /use because the council shuts roads in the area,
Friday and Saturday nights the local bars are busy and one has a music licence. It is noisy but quietens down around 2300
Our room was a good size but the bathroom was very small and needed some additional cleaning. Some hooks in th e room and bathroom would be useful
The hotel is inn a great position to explore this lovely town. Staff are friendly and helpful
.
Shrewsbury is a medieval built town. Subsequently buildings are close together and this can cause noise problems. The hotel is across the street and next door to public houses. A very minor criticism. It did not in anyway prevent me from several nice sleeps.
I love the history of the building. I love it's location, close to St. Alkmund's church. The Bears Steps and Civic Society close by. I love the proximity of the shops, bus and train station.
Throughly enjoyed our stay room amazing staff more than pleasant and helpful breakfast fabulous couldnt wish for a better four days

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Service very helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed the evening meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was very tasty and well presented.
Only negative the decor in the room is very dated.
We would still happily stay here again.
It's old-fashioned in a charming way, and a lovely central spot. Inevitably the sound of city night-life carried but the local pub stopped their music at 11 which I thought was really courteous. I met at least one regular guest which says a lot!
Loved the oldish charm of , rooms were comfortable and spotless, staff friendly and efficient, breakfast choice as well as the service was excellent 👍 this property
The attention to detail, staff very friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Would recommended it to anyone visiting in shrewsbury.
This is a fab hotel full of history and character. We really appreciated all the staff help and courtesy right from arrival at reception through to breakfast. It's in a great location and the quality of breakfast was excellent
