The facility looks better in pictures. It wasn’t horrible, but it was dated and worn down a bit. Food options weren’t the greatest. Small selection and tasted “cheap” compared to other casino resort restaurants I’ve eaten at. The elevators were a nightmare. Only 1 of the 5 were working each day and they were “glitchy”. You had to press the button several times to get it to stay lit to get the elevator to stop on your floor to pick you up.

There aren’t very many dining options at that particular casino. I chose the sit down restaurant Smokey Joe’s. It was not good. I will say that the bed was comfortable. The shower was excellent. I would stay there again for the hotel, but would never try to eat there again.

Hotel Great. Casino Needs Upgrade.
We have been going to Sam's Town ever since they took over the Harrah's Casino years ago. Overall, the casino has seen better days, but the hotel is still top-notch. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and we look forward to our periodic stay at their facility when we can get reasonable rates. My main complaint is, and always has been, the ridiculous "resort fee", which is just money that you leave on the desk and get nothing for (in most cases). The front desk staff has always been friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They took out the buffet sometime ago, and we always went early to have lunch there. Now we eat before going or after we leave. But, while the casino needs a major upgrade, it's still ok and worth a visit when you're in the Shreveport/ Bossier City area.

Super friendly front desk attendant checking us in and made us feel welcome. The only negative was the strong smell of cigarette smoke through the hallways of the main corridor and lobby. Other than that everything was clean and the prices were very inexpensive.
