The welcome we received was great. We were given advice if where to eat and visit. Our stay was onky fir 2 nights, but we shall visit Stoneleigh Barn again. Thank you!
I had a lovely stay at Stoneleigh barn, Rupert and Camilla were really helpful and attentive. My room was lovely and the bathroom was perfect. Everything was clean and tidy, the garden was beautiful and Nutmeg the dog was really sweet.
Gorgeous place, hosts were so helpful and so friendly and Nutmeg the dog was adorable!
Breakfast was perfect and of fantastic quality, thank you Rupert and Camilla our stay was just perfect!
Camilla was extremely helpful and organised a booking for us for dinner in Sherborne. The breakfast prepared and served was delicious. Very comfortable room

It was amazing! Very clean and lovely dog, she’s very welcoming also great food. We even got offered wellies to go for a muddy walk as we didn’t bring some. The hosts also let us borrow some games to play in the evening, lovely breakfast, lovely room, very accommodating.
Lovely stay at this B and B. We had a wedding to attend so decided to book a night to rest our heads. Nothing was too much to ask and we had a lovely breakfast in the morning! Would definitely recommend.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay in this fine old converted barn. Apart from the handsome and well appointed interiors the extensive garden is a joy to behold. The hosts, Rupert and Camilla offered the warmest of welcomes during our brief sojourn - well above and beyond commercial niceties. We were made to feel so comfortable - honoured guests in their lovely home. Thank you.
We stayed at Stoneleigh as it was close to the Sherborne Country Fair that is held in the grounds of Sherborne Castle and gardens that is a lovely place to visit, my Son was running the dragon boat event. Stoneleigh is a very comfortable stay, Rupert was very helpful in booking us a table at an Italian restaurant, we were offered tea on arrival, we had the red room that had a bath and walk in shower, breakfast was amazing and kept us going for the rest of the day. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if in the area.
First impression was not good. Door frame and doorbell was dirty. Entrance porch was very untidy and the stair carpet was dirty. The impression on entering the room did not improve. We had to ask for the duvet cover and pillowcase to be changed as both had what looked like blood stains on them. The duvet cover was replaced with a dingy white unironed one. The pillows were old, lumpy and misshapen with no protectors on. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. The iron bedstead was thick with dust as were all the surfaces and skirting boards. There were crumbs all around the bed. We has to ask for a brush to sweep up. The bathroom smelt foisty.
Since the covid pandemic we always take antibacterial wipes to wipe down all surfaces. We had to use a pack of 40 wipes which were very dirty after wiping down. The base around the toilet had dust and hairs. The towels were dingy and hard. The only heating in the room was a plug in electric convector heater. The road was very noisy and would wake us up in the early hours and then the noise from mice scratching behind the skirting boards would make getting back to sleep impossible. We did not sample the breakfast as we were worried about the hygiene.
The reason we did not leave was we had had a seven hour journey and the following day we had bought rail tickets to meet friends. We arrived back late from our train journey which gave us no time to source more accommodation. Maybe we should have gone on to Hotels.com for guidance!!!
