"Enjoyed our 3-night stay at the charming, quirky Window Cottage. The home is very nicely decorated and well-appointed and is, overall, quite comfortable. Flexible and effective climate control and plenty of on-demand hot water--very cozy for crisp autumn nights! Access was simple, instructions were clear, and the host was both proactive in his communication with us and promptly responsive to our inquiries. A few minor drawbacks for us: the mattress in the main bedroom is a little lumpy; the windows do not seal well and, therefore, a bit of noise from the busy street and outdoor seating area at the pub next door filters through; and, as is to be expected in a house of this age, the ceilings/doorways are very low and caused my 6'4" spouse a few headaches (literally)! The location is excellent if you are visiting the Cotswolds without a car--train station is a 5-minute walk, bus stop is right in front of the cottage, and the town is situated on the Monarch's Way footpath. In addition, there is an excellent grocery store, a wine shop, a cheese shop, a convenient laundry, and several good coffee/tea shops just a few minutes' walk away from the cottage. Very happy with our stay! "

"Slade Stables is one of the best vacation rentals we've stayed in of dozens. The location is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds and also ideal for rest and relaxation, with gorgeous and tranquil surroundings (including amazing sunset views). You will be very close to some of the most idyllic villages in the Cotswolds, including Blockley, Broadway, the Slaughters and Chipping Camden, and not far at all from many others. Our hosts were incredible, so generous with their time showing us the best walks, answering questions about local customs, and offering ideas for where to go and what to do. They clearly want their guests to have the best experience possible. They are attentive, but they also leave you to yourself -- the perfect balance. The rental itself is immaculate. Not only is it exceptionally clean, it is expertly renovated with high-quality finishes everywhere and the benefit of thoughtful design. Sometimes when we stay in rentals that have been renovated, there are "get-me-over" types of design decisions made (understandably) because the space is for temporary use. This is not the case with Slade Stables -- it's renovated with the attention to detail that people want for their homes. Overall, we feel so fortunate to have been able to stay in Slade Stables."
