We really enjoyed our stay at the anchor, the pubs location is a stones throw from the bay and seemed to be at the heart of the village, our room was really good, big comfortable bed and a fantastic sea view, big shout out the the wonderful staff who all made us feel welcome andooked after us so well, food was exceptional in particular the breakfast that was amazing
Excellent night away, hotel warm and cosy, staff friendly and food good value.

Fantastic location and for a short break away was ideal. Room was very comfy and clean....very fit for purpose and would certainly stay again
No lift to upper floors... Not a problem for us but a cosideration for those with disabilities

Nice place but a bit overpriced.
Fabulous location and lovely staff. Interesting menu and well prepared food. Although basically fine the room was a bit tired looking.
Would have been happy had it not been quite so expensive. Have stayed in better for less.
Our Room 3 on the first floor was comfortable and clean with an impressive view to the beach and surrounding hills.
The stairs were a challenge being steep and with hard edged treads with no rails on the top flight partly because of a door at the top of the stair opening out onto the stair.
On our second night my wife was frightened and her scalp burned by the shower water suddenly going from warm to boiling hot. The shower cubicle was filled with steam making it difficult for my wife to find and turn of the water supply tap.
The hotel’s response to this was offhand trying to stress it was an isolated incident and seemingly uninterested in the effect on my wife.
She will be making a formal complaint to the owners Green King.
Really enjoy staying at the Anchor. Great value hotel with lovely views. Good breakfast options. Comfortable rooms and great staff. The beer garden overlooking the beach is also fantastic.
Excellent location. The Anchor hotel was right on the southwest coast path.
It was a really lovely sea view room.
The Anchor has everything we needed.
The food was excellent. We had dinner in the bar and breakfast in the morning.
This hotel is a true gem of a place wonderful location.it’s actually in Beer not seaton which caused some confusion.superb rooms we had room 1 with amazing sea view. Very comfortable beds.
Great location and good breakfast. Comfortable room. We had dinner there which was very good. I had the salmon dish and my other half had the steak. We both had desserts which were very good. The hash brown didn't look very appetising as it was yellow and a bit soggy so I didn't eat that as it could have done with a bit more cooking time.
We had a good break for 2 nights. Food good, staff friendly and service mostly good. Rooms were clean.
No on site parking a bit confusing at first. We paid for parking for 3 hours at nearby long stay car park in village. Then moved car nearer on road and overnight back to long stay park. Total cost for 2 night stay £9.
