A beautiful piece of Sea Ranch history awaits at this inviting, three-bedroom home, an architectural gem with views overlooking the coastal meadow and the wide Pacific Ocean. As one of the first homes built by the renowned Sea Ranch architect Joseph Esherick, Eurella has the added distinction of being the house where Esherick stayed while he was building the famed Hedgerow Houses.

Beautifully set on one acre of land guarded by a cypress grove, Eurella is full of coastal light and comfort both inside and out. A wall of windows brings together the living and dining rooms, where you can place a log on the fire, curl up with a good book or a crossword on the plush sectional sofa, or gather around the table for a homemade meal or a board game with a view of the ocean and passing deer. The trail just off the deck leads directly to Black Point Beach and the oceanfront Bluff Trail, allowing you to spend your days whale- and seal-watching from the shore. Back at the house, you'll find respite from the ocean winds in the protected garden courtyard with a stately tree that shades the space and a private hot tub tucked away beneath a gazebo.

Swap out your bathing suits for a warm pair of socks from the washer/dryer, begin dinner preparations using the kitchen's stainless steel appliances, and bring a glass of wine out to the back deck or the garden patio to marvel at the golden hour light. As the fog begins to roll in, you can spend the evening in three beautiful bedrooms - one with a king-size bed and a snug window seat, and two (a queen room and a room with two twin beds) with access to the outdoors.

This home sits on the ocean side of California Highway 1 in the southern part of Sea Ranch, with a trail that leads from the back deck directly to Black Point Beach (a five-minute walk) and the Bluff Trail. When you're not out hiking, beachcombing, or catching a glimpse of whale spouts on the horizon, you'll be a quick three-mile drive from the always wonderful Twofish Baking and eight miles south of the Surf Market, Trinks Cafe, and Four-Eyed Frog Books in downtown Gualala. Golfers can also tee off at the Sea Ranch Golf Links, a gorgeous oceanfront course only six miles north.

Great location
The property is set on a picturesque spot in SeaRanch. Beautiful ocean views. The home itself has lots of nice and unexpected touches (amazing water pressure, oyster knife, dog blankets). It also had a few cost reducing pieces that ranked it down a notch for me (one ply toilet paper and paper towels, super thin cloth towels). We did have an issue with wet towels upon arrival and the property management remedied it within the first 24 hours of our stay. The outdoor space was very useful and set up functionally. The only thing I didn’t love was the courtyard door opening to the street was not locking. This was to enable groundskeeper access but I didn’t like how anyone could enter the courtyard. Probably not common to wander in off Highway 1 but I’m a safely gal so it made an impression! Check out was a breeze! I love locations that build in support to your fee structures so you can just pack up and go with just a few small tasks any guest should do (strip beds and dishwasher started).

This house was a beautiful, quiet retreat. Great spot to get away & unplug. We enjoyed the wildlife, ocean view, & the hot tub. Our teen girls even had their own rooms.

First time, hopefully not last time
First time staying in Sea Ranch with family (spouse, kiddo, and dog) and was dry satisfied with the accommodations. Appreciated being right off Hwy 1 and within walking distance to Moonraker Rec Center (pool & pickleball) as well as Black Point Beach, which the dog loved. Wood burning stove was easy to use & plenty of wood & starters were supplied. As a dog owner, I appreciated the closed off front & side patios. Would definitely try to book this place again.

Great place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable, clean, and had almost everything we needed (couldn't find a drying rack for clothes or dishes, but it was great even having the ability to wash clothes). The views of the ocean were fantastic. It was very quiet and felt secluded even with another place next door. We'll definitely stay here again!

Needs work
This home is spacious and well situated. In order to continue renting this house, the owners and managers owe it to their guests to do a regular deep cleaning, to replace beds, and to update home with improved amenities measuring cups, cookware, bed spreads, etc). It should not be rented in this condition.

Great location, dirty place
The location of the property is fantastic but the home is in dire need of some care. It has a general grime over the entire place (spider webs and dust everywhere) and during our stay we learned a mouse is living in the stove top and likes to come out in the evenings to look for scraps. We also found bug droppings in my sons bed. We ended up leaving halfway through our stay as I did not want to get bedbugs. The management was quite nice about and at least refunded part of our stay. I would not rent here until you are assured it has been properly cleaned and updated a bit

Delightful
We loved our stay at Eurella the art, the beautiful patios, the location and the history of the house made it a perfect stay. We have been coming to Sea Ranch for 50 years. We have always wanted to stay in a Eserick house, and we were not disappointed. The only problem is driveway SS it is off Highway 1. We soon learned not to turn left when leaving. We loved the proximity to the Lodge, Black Point Beach and the Recreation Center. Thank you for letting us bring our dog

This location was amazing and so magical. I don’t want it to get out there on the off chance that it would become too popular, too expensive. But it was ridiculously gorgeous.

Wonderful beach house!
Ocean views are fantastic! Walks on the bluff and reading on that nice big couch. We were in heaven. Incredible art work in every room. I only have two suggestions. The twin beds are way too soft, we thought they were blow up beds they were so soft. And some of the pans for cooking could use an upgrade. But overall a really comfortable house. We enjoyed our stay an will return again.
