Planters Inn has a great location in the historic district. Very walkable to many key sightseeing spots. The hotel is clean, safe and the staff are friendly. They also have us our room early. They get 4 stars because the hotel is a little run down and could use some updating. Other than this, it was wonderful

A beautiful old hotel that brings you back in time. The staff was excellent in making you comfortable and offering their assistance. Our stay was extremely comfortable and relaxing. If we needed something, they didn’t hesitate to accommodate. A great hotel to stay in such a beautiful city. I’ll stay there every time.

Planters Inn is in a great location...Pink House & Tavern across the street, Riverfront a couple blocks over, shopping & Byrd's Cookies a block away. Joshua was helpful for valet parking; Julie was diligent about a shower chair; Marilyn helpful about the hair dryer; Carl gave great recommendation for Clary's for breakfast; and Chris provides wine pours! All good.

We stayed four nights at Planters Inn. We had a great stay. The staff was great! The AC wasn’t working when we arrived, but it was fixed fairly quickly. The location is very convenient to everything. Parking can be a hassle, but that’s not unique to Planters Inn. I would recommend staying here.

It was close to river street and pretty much everything. But the room was very dated, paint was peeling from the walls, the room had a slight musky odor. The fabric on the chairs looked like they had not been cleaned in some time, and we found hair on the bathroom door, on the inside of the shower curtain and underneath the bed covers. We only stayed two nights and spent most of the time outside so we didn’t bother to make a complaint. But I will not book this hotel again.

The staff is awesome! Friendly, helpful crew makes up for what the place lacks. Older hotel so so things are to be expected. They have the old school European vibe here. That said, it could use a bit of an update. The beds creek when you move because its old. Not the end of the world though. The park across the street has some sketchy people in it. Not the hotels fault. We were ok with it, just avoid it and its fine. Location is great though! You can walk anywhere downtown from here quickly. Again, the staff here is a solid 10

The hotel is near the main shopping street and right on Reynolds Square. The valet and hotel clerks were very nice. The room we had was small, the bed had a big indentation in the middle , like too many bodies had slept there. The decor of the room, the hallways and the lobby is drab . The valet parking that was listed on Expedia was $24.95 and was supposed to be offered to us at no charge. Instead the cost was $34.95 and we were charged for it. The square by the hotel is lovely but in the morning it has lots of homeless people using it, some outright smoking marijuana. I would not stay at the Planter’s Inn again.
