Summary:
Forest Haus is a recently renovated A-Frame cabin that's charming, spacious and has all the amenities for your stay. The name originates from Carly's German last name meaning "house in the forest" which is very fitting for this wooded retreat.
It's the best of both worlds. You can peacefully lounge in the cabin and it's only a 5 minute drive to explore downtown Saugatuck and Douglas.
The Space:
A cozy, thoughtfully designed interior for guests to enjoy. The layout:
- The first floor has two bedrooms with kings, one full bath, laundry, mudroom and a den with a tv and game table.
- The second floor has one bedroom with a cali king, one full bath, new kitchen, family room A-Frame, a new wood stove and walk out porch with a grill.
- The third floor is a spacious loft with a cali king bed, full bath (with skylights), chaise and desk overlooking the A-Frame family room.
Cooling: New mini splits throughout the second and third floors. The first floor is quite temperate so it does not have AC. There are lots of fans and windows to get airflow too. If you need a specific temperature throughout the entire haus, best not to book since we don't have central AC.
Heating: A new boiler and hot water system.
Guest Access:
Guest have access to the entire property and house except the basement.

Quaint friendly neighborhood.
Getting Around:
At least four parking spots in the driveway and more right in front of the house.
The neighborhood street is very walk-able. On the main road to get to downtown, there are no sidewalks so we recommend driving.

Perfect Weekend!
The house was absolutely beautiful and well stocked with everything we would have needed. Carly was so easy to communicate with and helped to make our “Mom’s Away” weekend even more special.
It was really easy getting to and from downtown Saugatuck, but we enjoyed ourselves plenty just hanging at the house and on the deck.

Stay at the Forest Haus
The Forest Haus was a great property! The property is perfect for both families and an adults-only trip. We traveled for my husband's birthday with 3 other couples and it met our needs for each couple to have their own space. There are two large living space and a great kitchen that can accommodate large groups. All the windows are beautiful and let in a lot of light. The house is very clean and well-maintained. It's tucked into a small neighborhood and just a short 5-10 minute drive to town with all our favorite restaurants and shops. Carly is easy to communicate with and will make your stay top notch.
