It's a 3 Star NOT a 5 star
This is advertised as 5 star hotel. It is not. There were no basic coffee/tea making facility in the room & only a basic shower over bath in the bathroom. Hairdrier did not work in our room and took a long time to get fixed. It has a beautiful foyer & a nice pool area (pool is uniformly deep however) & the service was generally very good. Location is pretty close to the Old Town.

Nice, but could improve
Overall our stay was pleasant. The location is great and the staff accommodating. We found our suite clean and comfortable. Though, some elements (light fixtures that don’t function, doors that don’t close or make far too much noise) should definitely be addressed by maintenance. As others have noted, there’s no coffee maker or kettle in the room, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the room as we’d like.

Nice hotel, beds comfy and room and bathroom a good size. Great quality toiletries and towels. Reception areas good. Didn't eat there, so can't comment on food. Good location 10 min walk from cathedral. Very pricey €300+ for what you get. There were better value places in the centre, but due to the festival, this was our only option. No outside areas, which was sad as the weather was fab. The small pool, with outside chairs, sun loungers and bar doesn't open until 1st June, which was disappointing, as we were looking forward to cooling our achy legs after the Camino. Do

A poor option in a wonderful city
The hotel is rated as five star. Unfortunately, it does not achieve this. We stayed for two nights. We had a double room and our friends stayed also in a double room. We had just walked 100 miles on the Camino and looked forward to our stay. The men at reception took no interest whatsoever in our journey to the hotel and provided an anticlimax to a very long day of walking. One arrives in Santiago with big expectations and we found the welcome everywhere else in the city except for at this hotel. The hotel advertises robes but neither room had robes. Our friends had water provided in their room but on neither day were we given any. The outdoor pool was still closed in April. There are no coffee or tea facilities in the rooms. Breakfast is an additional €16 which we declined as there are loads of great cafes in the area. Our friend had it and couldn’t recommend it. Santiago de Compostela is full of wonderful people and hospitality. It is not to be found at Aranaguey.
